When you know you’ll be hiking through a tropical rainforest, running a trail with stream crossings, or rafting a fat river, pull on your New Balance Men’s 920 Water Shoes. These water shoes fit like sneakers yet don’t feel sopped and squishy when wet like sneakers do. New Balance used its H2Flow technology in these shoes—holes above the soles let water and sand that comes in through the mesh uppers pour out with each step—to keep your feet dry and happy. Grippy Vibram outsoles with siping hold onto wet docks, rocks, and roots so you don’t land on your keister.
Bottom Line: We recommend wearing these sneakers without socks.

I actually don't have a problem with these shoes without socks. Though, I do prefer to wear them with socks on dry trails. If the trail is wet, I either wear socks and take them off if the trail is very wet or I don't wear socks at all.
Change me.
