A lightweight, neutral, and cushioned structure for disciplined road runners.

Every step you take during runs should empower you, not cripple you. The New Balance M890v2 Running Shoe cushions the constant impacts from roads and sidewalks while providing a neutral platform that keeps your foot healthy and happy.

  • Ample amounts of Revlite foam in the midsole and an Abzorb insert cushion your strides so you can run for many miles without pain
  • Full-length Abzorb strobel board adds structure to this running shoe and prevents injuries on uneven ground or during grueling marathons
  • Blown-rubber outsole grips slick streets and sandy sidewalks as you sprint home
  • Mesh upper enables breathability to prevent sweat and blistering
  • No-sew materials reduce weight to save energy throughout the miles

how good would this do on the trails?

It's not a trail shoe so it will probably be a little soft. There's also not much protection in the uppers.

Dominic Grossman will be using this shoe for 30-50 miles of the Hardrock 100 mountain race in a week's time. He's a New Balance runner and can run in whatever he likes. He loves the MT110s, but is opting for the 890 much of the race because "it kills long fireroads and protects the foot" (via twitter). About to buy a pair myself and I run ultras on trails.
