People talk about being controlling like it's a bad thing, but New Balance doesn't quite see it that way, so it designed the 1340v2 Optimum Control Women's Running Shoe to help you stay on top of every dip, ditch, and pebble the road puts in your way. While not a full-on maximalist shoe, the 1340v2 is extensively cushioned, with an Abzorb midsole that combines Acteva Lite foam, a PU insert, N2 low-profile cushioning, and an NDurance cushioned heel to give you tons of protection while keeping you low to the ground. A 10mm drop helps to encourage some heel-to-toe roll for a natural, efficient stride, and the T-Beam TPU shank provides side-to-side stability. You'll stay comfortable, too, courtesy of a mesh and synthetic upper, while the blown rubber outsole handles everything from loose sand to gravel and wet pavement without breaking a sweat.
