From cornice to cliff and peak to podium, the Never Summer Premier F1-R Snowboard has the versatility and performance to slay any big line or natural feature you hunt for on the mountain. Never Summer's R.C. Technology gives you rocker where you want it (between your bindings) and camber where you need it (under tip and tail) for destroying every line in site at speeds unthinkable, all while maximizing the float, forgiveness, and loose feel that reverse camber is known for. Vario Power Grip sidecut offers primo edge hold and aggressive turning, so you don't lose power or control at high speeds or in critical situations.
R.C. Technology rocker/camber shape gives you more freestyle potential with the snap, power and control of camber
Vario Power Grip’s variable sidecut increases grip and edge hold
RDS 1 Dampening System reduces chatter at high speeds
Carbon V-Twin Laminate Technology and custom F1 Elastomeric Stabilizers increase edge hold and vibration absorption while also improving response and torsional rigidity
Multi-Flex Cambered Flightcore blends hard and soft wood with dampeners for well balanced snap, responsiveness, and a smooth ride
STS Pretensioned Fiberglass reinforces Bi-LITE Fiberglass for incredible strength, pop, edge hold, and durability
P-tex sidewalls, P-tex tip-and-tail protection, and full-wrap edges withstand the abuse of all-mountain riding
Bottom Line: Get the benefit of both rocker and camber, and murdalize the mountain on the Never Summer Premier F1-R all-mountain snowboard.
This ride is amazing! I got the F1 Premier at the end of last season and wish I would have picked it up earlier. The board rides so smooth whether your bombing steeps or dodging trees. I'm 5-10 and ride the 161. The 61 is my preferred size for an all mountain board. It handles great on all terrain and it's not too big to throw around in the air every now and then. It's a great ride, has a three year warranty, and it's made in the USA...what else can you ask for in a board. I love this board and will definitely continue to buy NS boards in the future...sorry burton.
I'm a advanced expert freerider- pow and steeps, chutes, backcountry. I live and ride in Utah. I love ripping lines in the steeps and pow.
I've had 3 NS Premieres... gotta say that the rocker makes the F1-R 172 board more forgiving and easier to ride. But that isn't why i liked these boards in the past. they were full on ready to charge, now they are alittle washy. when you really want the nose or tail to hold and give- it flexes and poops out a little bit.
bottom line i don't think i'll get the premier again, and would probably go for the titan- i just wish it came in a 172!
Hey I've had 3 172 NS Premier boards, loved them all. Wondering about the Titan though.
I ride steeps, pow, trees and fast. I don't ride freestyle really at all. Did the Premier go from their big mountain directional to a twin tip this year?
yeah it looks like a twin, although its still a great board for what you ride, Never Summer's camber/rocker design is great for stability at high speeds and gives you great flotation in pow. You can't beat their 3 year warranty either

I've only ridden it in pow, which is a good thing. I do recommend re-waxing it right away though, whatever it came with was terrible. It rides excellent, smooth edge to edge and it has a very solid feel underfoot. And the build is outstanding, it just seems like it's much better constructed than any board I've owned and I've been riding since the dawn of time. I'm definitely a NS convert after riding this one.
I wanted to give this board a few days of riding before reviewing. I've been riding for 10+ years and also believe that a good rider can ride well on any board.
That said, the F1-R has been a joy to ride. I haven't noticed any loss of edge hold and only a slight loss of turn pop due to the rocker-camber configuration. The increased level of forgiveness the board provides on flat spins and spin landings make the benefits far outweigh the unnoticeable cost.
Note that this is probably not the best buttering/park board. It's very stiff and it's definitely not the lightest board around.
Another thing to note is it does seem to dampen bumps pretty well. I've found myself charging through bumps I would have previously avoided.
