The Never Summer Cobra X Wide Snowboard is always poised to strike whether you're shredding tight trees, icy groomers, or gnarly exposed faces. A wide-waisted version of the Cobra made for riders with bigger boots, the Cobra X features a directional shape, stiff flex, and versatile profile to help you attack everything from your local resort to heli-access Alaskan peaks with lethal precision.

Never Summer's original Rocker Camber profile puts rocker between your feet for float and forgiveness, along with camber underfoot for pop, power, and edge hold. Extended transition zones at the main contact points help the board plane in powder more easily and give it a less grabby feel on hardpack, while the Vario Power Grip sidecut utilizes multiple radii to create additional contact points for reliable edge when conditions are icy. Its directional shape features a drawn out nose and a blunted tail for enhanced float and maneuverability in powder.

The RDS 1 damping system offers a smooth ride when you're riding through chunder and gives the board high-speed stability. Sustainably-harvested poplar is fused with hardwood birch to create an incredibly lightweight, yet durable core. Bi-Lite fiberglass gives it a smooth, consistent flex, while a dual top-and-bottom carbon matrix channels energy for incredible power underfoot. Sintered P-Tex sidewalls maintain integrity at cold temperatures so they won't crack when temperatures plummet. The Carbonium topsheet is chip-resistant and sheds snow, and it has a texture that is grippier than standard topsheets for better traction when you're pushing one-footed. It's finished off with an extremely durable, high-density Durasurf XT sintered 5501 base that has graphite added to keep you flying at near-mach speeds wherever you ride.

Beautiful board

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've only ridden it on groomers so far since we have no snow yet, but its a fun, fast board. I had a raptor before. There are certain aspects I like better than the raptor and certain I like less as far as groomers go anyway. The raptor has a more reactive sidecut when riding forward, but is aukward riding switch. The cobra is much nicer riding switch, which I do a lot. I expect this board to be spectacular in the pow. It is a 166w as was my raptor, but because the nose and tail are not as steep, it's about 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer and a little wider too. I saw it in person before I bought it. I was set on the chairman 169 until i saw them side by side. The cobra is a beautiful board with an awesome shape. Let it snow, let it snow so I can try it in the famous Utah pow!
