For insulation, the Mezzo utilizes a synthetic Stratofiber material that will retain insulating properties if  the bag happens to get a little wet. For added protection against moisture, Nemo Equipment treated the ripstop nylon fabric with a water-resistant finish, so it won't be game over if your careless tent mate spills warm water (at least you hope it's water) on your bag.
