You can never be too warm on cold camping trips.
Whoever thought backpacking in winter was a good idea must have had the Nemo Equipment Inc. Cosmo Insulated Sleep Pad to keep them nice and comfortable while they slept. Nemo added a layer of PrimaLoft insulation in the durable yet plush polyester shell in order to keep you warmer and cozier than conventional sleeping pads. Even though it stuffs down to about the size of a Jetboil stove, this pad's lateral I-beam baffles raise up to about 3 inches in order to keep you off the bumpy ground throughout the night. These baffles also offer more support and stability than most conventional sleeping pads, and the pad provides a pillow baffle for extra support at your head that doesn't add any weight whatsoever. An integrated foot pump lets your leg do all the work involved with inflating instead of your lungs. When you're breaking down camp for a long hike, stuff this pad in its included stuff sack so you can minimize the amount of space it takes up in your pack.

Made to Fit
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Bought this Cosmo to replace a thin inch and half pad I was using with my Nemo Mezzo Loft sleeping bag. Mezzo Loft sleeping bag has a built in pad sleeve that retains the pad directly under the sleeping bag at all times. This Cosmo fits and fills the sleeping bag sleeve to the max. Pump takes a little effort but gets the job done quickly and is definitely better than using lung power. Compacts small enough that I don't take the two apart, I roll up both bag and pad together and fit into original sleeping bag stuff sack. Have not put to hard use, however, can say there is no substitute four inches of all night comfort. I love it!
quiet and comfy for my 6'2 frame
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
If you are a side sleeper, this pads for you. I am 6 2, 185 pounds and move around constantly throughout the night. The pad is quiet and comfy and I have no back pain in the AM. When you aÂre rolling it up make sure to press down hard on the pump to get all the air out. That way you can roll it up nice a tight. Don't overfill it, it is firm by design. The integrated foot pump is great and worth the tiny extra weight. I even use in the city for naps on my roof deck. I love this pad!
NEMO Cosmo Air Insulated Pad
Worth it's weight in gold
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Although this pad is a little on the heavy side but is worth every gram by providing a very comfy platform 4" thick to sleep on in the backcountry. You can even lay on your side and not touch the ground. This pad also stays inflated throughout the night so no midnight pumping. With a stuff sack, built in foot pump, and huge valves, this is a great way to stay comfy and elevated in the backcountry or car camping.

What is the R value of this sleeping pad?
NEMO does not give R values for their sleeping pads but they say the Minimum Temp. Zone is 10 to 20F (-12 to -6C) for the Cosmo Insulated Sleep Pad. That would put it around a 4-5 R Value in my opinion. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

I bought the alps lynx 1 tent from you and now I'm interested in the memo air insulated 30xl. I really like the idea of a large pad as I move quite a bit when I sleep and I'm really looking for comfort since I'm planning camping for 6 weeks. The tent is, I think, 32" large and the pad is 30". I try to figure if it will be a good fit. I think that it can work.
