If your rear and lower back are suffering while you paddle, the Necky ACS Seat Kit is the answer. Remove the existing seat from your Old Town or Necky kayak and reap the benefits of an adjustable backrest and seatpan, self-draining pad, and a truly 'locked in' feel with your boat.

  • L-shaped supports attached to the bracket mounts keep the seat locked in and stable while you paddle
  • Channels in the foam seat pad offer ventilation, cushion, and drainage through the holes in the seat pan beneath it
  • Five position height adjustment on the backrest allow you to find the ideal comfort spot and accommodates paddlers of different heights
  • Side straps on the backrest let you adjust the amount (angle) of lumbar support and feature quick-release cords to release tension
  • Thigh adjustment straps raise and lower the seatpan to your desired position
  • Note: ACS Seat Kit is only compatible with newer boats that use the Extrasport Xtra Comfort seats

I have a Necky Chatham 17 (bought in late '11). I was wondering whether the Necky ACS seat kit would be appropriate - and how much more comfortable is it?

Will this seat work with a Necky Zoar Sport 14?

Probably is the best answer but it depends on the year. These seats were made to replace the Extrasport Xtra Comfort seats that came on many Necky Yaks including the Zoars. You might try giving their customer service a call and asking. My wife's Dirigo has the ACS seat and it is very comfy.

This Necky ACS looks like the seat in my 2008 old town Diringo 10'6" angler kayak; do you think it is compatible?

Joyce, they have a note at the bottom of the description that you must have the Extrasport Xtra Comfort seat on your existing kayak. If the mounts look the same you are probably good to go.

If it doesn't work they have a no questions asked return policy but you would have to pay return shipping.
