The Nau Men's Down Plaid Shirt Jacket mixes urban button-down style, classic plaid, and low-profile down insulation. Wear this shirt-jacket on its own for warmth in the city, and layer it under a shell when you're in stormy mountains. The 800-fill goose down insulation comes in a super sleek silhouette that uses varying baffled thickness to trap heat in key areas. Nau made this shirt out of recycled polyester in order to simultaneously meet its sustainable standards as well as keep you completely comfortable, and a DWR coating helps repel light snowfall and icicle drips. There are six snaps down the front, a snap-tab at the collar to cover your neck, and snap cuffs for adjustability.

  • Recycled polyester shell

Here's what others have to say...

I realize this jacket isn't optimized for outdoor usage, but is there any reason to believe it wouldn't hold up/perform as a hiking/belay type of function?

It is for outdoor usage, but I'd be concerned about versatility. Stuff like whether the jacket is long enough to stay down when your hands are over your head, whether the harness is going to get in the way of the pockets, and durability of the fabric in a more rugged, scraping-on-rocks kind of setting. Seems like a risky purchase for that kind of use.
