Probably good for its intended purpose

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

This jacket was a gift for my dad but when I received it I realized it wouldn't serve much of a purpose for him. It comes across to me as a fragile light down jacket, for camping and hiking I don't think it'd last him too long.

Excellent around town jacket. 800 fill is super light. Quality is outstanding

Perfect down jacket

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The large jacket is perfect for my 6'3" 180 lb. frame. I have received many compliments for the look and I've had no issues with the weather. I wore it at Mile High Stadium when it was 25 degrees (with a simple base layer) and I was actually sweating at times. Very happy with this purchase.

Comfortable, lightweight

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Despite the great price, I was hesitant to buy this because NAU is not a brand I'm familiar with. Since I pulled the trigger on it, I haven't had any regrets. I haven't actually used it in wintry conditions, but it's comfortable and lightweight. The off-set zipper looks somewhat odd, but not having it right under my chin is kind of nice. I'm a lean 6'2, 183 lbs., and got a L. There's enough room for me to wear a soft-shell and couple of shirts underneath, but I also don't feel lost in it when I only wear it over one layer. I do wish it was slight longer, but overall it seems like a good purchase. I live in Seattle, where the winters are wet but mild, so I don't see myself using it too often, but it's light enough that it could be useful on an outdoor adventure somewhere.

Happy with the NAU

I picked the NAU out based off reviews, style, and my intended purposes. Took a trip to the San Juan Mountains where conditions were snowy, and negative temperatures in the morning and night; yet I left very pleased with this jacket. The offset zipper is awesome - I was slightly concerned about the flaps being too large when I didn't have it all the way zipped, but I never noticed them being any different than a regular zipper. A medium fit is excellent for my 6', 165lbs frame. I compared the jacket to the Marmot Hangtime and decided on the NAU because the fit allowed me more mobility yet still had a slimmer profile than the Hangtime. Highly recommend this jacket for outdoor pursuits and cold winter days!
