Paddling on open waters or in shallow inlets can be wonderfully relaxing, unless your back and butt are ridiculously sore. Thanks to an adjustable seat and thigh pads in the Native Watercraft Marvel 10 Recreational Kayak, you'll have a comfortable ride. Native Watercraft makes this kayak with a sturdy design and a ten-foot length, so you can still make tight turns despite the stable width. The seat on the Marvel 10 removes for easy loading and unloading, and the foot rests adjust to the right length once you're ready to go.

Bottom Line: Native Watercraft's Marvel 10 Recreational Kayak is right at home in tight, shallow coves or on open water.

Has anyone bought one of these and are they any good on a grade 1 river or on the beach surf?

Yes, these are great on Class 1 and even small class twos. A big plus is having hatches that are easy on/off and positively sealed. A lot of cheap boats have bogus hatches. In beach surf, youll probably want a sit on top.

The proof is in the plastic!

This is one stiff, strong plastic boat. Much stiffer, harder, more shape retention than what else is out there. Marvels do not oil can like a lot of polyetheylene boats out there.

Short boats

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I recently got to check this boat out, and gotta say, short boats are pretty fun! Super easy to turn(180 in two strokes), extremely stable and fairly comfy! Only problems are this boat doesn't glide or hold a straight line to save it's life, but thats to be expected with a shorter boat. If the bar in the seat is bugging ya, just tighten the straps and your problem will be solved!
