Reach for the Native Eyewear Tare Polarized Sunglasses when you want the versatility of interchangeable lenses and need the clarity of polarization. In addition to their glare-reducing polarized lenses, the Tare Sunglasses come with an extra lens for improved variety and protection. Full-wrap frames and wide temples lend these polarized sunglasses a casual look, so you don't always look like you're on the way to a volley ball game.

Bottom Line: Blends casual style and sport function.

"Warranty"

By:
May 27, 2009

Folks - check the warranty before you buy. Despite many states requirements that companies do not charges consumers for warranty protection, Native attempts to do exactly that. I was presented with two options, either pay $24 for new temples or pay a $30 warranty charge.

The interchangeable temples snapped on my pair on the 4th change! Native did not want to honor a "lifetime warranty" even though the glasses were less than 3 years old and again the temples had only been changed 3 times previously.

Certainly not the service one would expect when a company claims to stand behind their product.

Sweet!

By:
July 23, 2008

I have a pretty narrow face as well and it's tough to find sunglasses that don't poke out an inch on either side and make me look like a bug or a little kid. These hug my face really well but the vents prevent them from fogging up on long bike rides.
I haven't had any problem with the lenses coming out when they're not supposed to either.

Do the lenses scratch easily? No one mentioned it here but every single review on rei.com says the lenses scratch easy. Seems like spam when there is that much negativity but what do you guys think?

Gre - I have the reflex and the lenses did scratch fairly easily. They are a very lightweight, comfortable pair of sunglasses with great clarity, but see above warranty issue. I would heavily recommend other high end manufacturers who truly stand behind their product before buying Native again.

Change your life

By:
October 6, 2008

I've had my Natives for 2 yrs now. They're still as great as they were on day one. They've been all over the world and are still in one piece. The lenses did pop out once. Easy to put back. Do yourself a favor and buy these. Plus the new reflex lenses are great.

The only place that I've seen replacement lenses available are through rei.com. But it seems that they have to special order them for you. You can't even order them directly through Native's own site.

Great glasses and lifetime warranty!

By:
March 17, 2009

I bought these glasses in 2006 and wear them *all* the time. I've worn them in 6 marathons, countless half-marathons, and almost all of my weekday runs. Last month, after a particularly hot and humid race, one of the nose cushions popped off. I sent the glasses back to Native Eyeware (as they have a lifetime warranty), and they sent me a brand new pair back in the mail just one week later. Great glasses, great customer service! Also, unlike some of the other reviewers, I've never had a problem with the lenses randomly popping out, but I don't interchange my lenses that often. I would highly recommend these glasses to all my friends and running buddies!!!

Native is on top of their products

By:
August 22, 2008

I went to a retailer and tried on some other sport designed polarized glasses after I lost my first pair of Natives. Nothing fit me as well as these did. That's going to be different on a person to person basis, but even the ones that didn't fit well to my face were more comfortable than similar brands. Plus these things are uber durable. My girlfriend hasn't even broken her pair yet ;)

A great fit for a medium/small face

By:
December 11, 2006

It is hard for me to find sunglasses that fit my head as well as these do. I have a medium/small sized head and these hug my face very well. Like the ventilation on top for hikes and the sunglasses themselves can take a beating or two.

Sunglasses were ok, BC.com was my problem

By:
May 4, 2007

I like the Native Dash SS sunglasses better. They are more my style. These were good. I really love the sportflex lenses. I like having my eyes hidden. Sportflex lenses hid my eyes, but allowed clear vision on cloudy days. The frames I have are somewhat see through, but they warp the light. This bothers me because my peripheral vision picks up objects, but it distorts them greatly.

The first pair sent to me had a loose lens. So loose that it fell out when I jumped or turned quickly. I returned it to BC.com, and I got a replacement that was looser. I contacted BC.com and they were UNABLE TO OPEN A BOX TO CHECK IF THE LENS WAS LOOSE PRIOR TO SHIPPING. Talking to Native, they said they would send me a replacement through their warranty program. Prior experience with my Native Dash sunglasses warranty was also very positive.

Great but don't drop them

By:
July 10, 2007

The Tare sunglasses feel great on and work well on the water, but don't drop them 'cause the lenses pop out almost before they hit the deck. The changeable lenses are a nice addition to the glasses, but not well retained.
