Interchangeable lenses help you see clearly in any light condition when you're wearing Native Eyewear Dash XP Polarized Sunglasses. The wrap-around design gives you more peripheral coverage for eXtra Protection (XP, get it?) from the sun. Hikers, runners, snow junkies, and other outdoor athletes will be blown away by how easily the polarized lenses cut through the harsh glare of midday sun. Whether you're boating on a bluebird summer day or trail running at night, just swap out your lenses for a lens tint to suit the lighting conditions. The Dash XP has a lens tint that will work perfectly. With this model, Native Eyewear included an optics kit complete with sunglass strap, a hard case, and soft case that doubles as a goggle wipe.
Bottom Line: The Dash XP has you covered. Any time, anywhere, and in any light.
Just picked up a pair of these in the Asphalt/Blue Reflex. They are extremely light and comfortable and the optics are great. I am taking a chance, going out of my Smith Optics comfort zone with them, but I think I'm going to like them. They have a big test coming up this week; I will report back and update my review shortly...
Edit/Update: I wore these on my Grand Canyon Rim-to-River hike last week and they performed flawlessly. No fogging, no glare, no light peeking in from the sides or top, and no distortion. No slippage, and they were comfortable the entire trek. These are keepers for sure...

The native website says these glasses should come with two extra pairs of lenses, but this website says it only comes with 1 extra pair of lenses. Is that right or does it actually come with two extra pair?
really nice sunglasses. Only problem is that when wearing them, they don't fully meet your forehead and light sneaks over the top. And for the month I have had them, I see no damage.
I have broken two pairs of these. Native has replaced both frames and scratched lenses. I am very impressed by the customer service and love the eyewear...
There isn't an option to get brown lenses standard with the Maple Tort Dash XP, but you can purchase the interchangeable brown lenses for about $40. Another option too would be to get the Wood Dash XP frame, those come with the Brown lenses and are similar to Maple Tort!
These glasses are extremely comfortable but can wary on the two sides of durability. The frames can stand up to being sat on and dropped multiple times. However after what I would call light use, the rubber nosepieces continually fall out, rubber cement does a fine job to fix 'em though. The lenses are great, mine are cracked after heavy use but they are the best I have ever had. The frame vents and interchangeable lenses are great for cycling. Native's customer service is as good as they say, they replaced my cracked lenses without question.
I've worn and sold Natives for 5 years. I will never wear another pair of glasses except Natives. The Dash XP's happen to fit my face the best so I chose them. These have been through everything, including eating it hard off the mountain bike, backcountry skiing, long leader falls, you name it! Mine have never had so much as a scratch through all that (many falls equals many scratches) and even with all that abuse, Native will still warranty them!
Bought the Dash SS for the great fit and loved them until after a few years the lens coating gets hairline cracks all over. Maybe from taking on and off for cleaning but at $120.00 I think it's inferior lens coating and unacceptable. After several calls they only responded to a nasty final lashing on their voice mail (which is all you will ever get). Finally the girl that called back was very nice but I can buy the replacement lenses at REI for $40 vs. $30 for warranty which doesn't sound promising from other people's reviews of waiting forever to get nothing. Will wait for back ordered lenses to get into REI in a month or so. At least the Dash XP will fit my SS frame which is still good.
Great eye pro. Their frames are geared towards specific facial profiles. I dont see a size chart so you may want to hit the Native website for sizing suggestions. I have a big honkin nose and these are the best fitting sunglasses I have come across. I have had to use the warrantee once after running into something face first. I had nothing but a good experience. I was kept up to date by email. IIRC, you pay a $30 processing fee and get a NEW set of glasses. I thought it was fair, maybe that's just me. Nice looking and no peripheral blur, ballistic protection.
I absolutely love my dash XR's(discontinued), I've lost 2 pairs already and am on my third pair. My only issue is with Native's customer service....I was attempting to purchase replacement frames as I still had the lens pack from old shades I had lost. When they told me they couldn't do that, but they could give me the pro athlete price 'just this once' since I have onwed so many pairs, I was ecstatic, a pair of natives for $60, perfect! Well, until they kep ttelling me they were in the mail and it was all lies, when I called them out on lying to me they just said, "oh we had the wrong CC number, we'll get them out to you right away"....more lies, I never got them, that was 6 months ago. I am a sucker though, the shades fit my face so perfect I got another pair.
I love these glasses! I have three pairs of the Charcoal XP. They protect your eyes while still keeping your viewing area light. They cut the glare, not the colors. Colors are more vibrant. You can see the bottom of a river and the fish swimming in it. You can still hike with them, because you can see detail (unlike other glass that make everything too dark). Plus, they have air holes in the top so heat escapes and the glasses don't steam up. The XP fits my face well. I have a square face and they wrap around it well. The nose pieces are very comfortable. They have taken a lot of abuse and I still have no scratches.
These are the best shades I've owned. Hands down. Except for the coating on the outside of the lens...polarization coating? I made the mistake of cleaning it with a tissue. and the coating wiped right off, so now it needs to be replaced for 40 bucks. Otherwise, they are great for mountainbiking because they don't fog up and glare is drastically reduced. Enjoy!! and remember- clean them with the supplied cloth only!!!!
This is my third pair of natives. My first broke after 2 years and I am in the process of getting them warrantied. So far so good. The rubber ear pieces on my first pair of XP's fell off after a while and one of the hinges broke. I never had problems with lens scratching. I have no complaints just now for the Dash XP's. All glasses will fall apart if you are as hard on them as I am. I figure if I can get a year out of them, I got my money's worth. I think they could be a little more tougher for the money.
I have a pair of Native glasses (the Dash XP) that I thought were going to be great, but when the comfy nose-piece that holds them on your face fell off Native left me hangin'. I tried repeatedly to get customer support from Native, but they failed miserably. Learn from my mistake -- buy Smith,... I strayed from them for a short time, but trust me when I say that they stand behind their products (not a paid advertisement--I promise).
Write your comment here...James, did you try sending them with the upc or reciept? I have 5 times on the 3 styles I own and have recieved replacements quickly.(2 times before my $30.00 check had cleared) Today my friend's dog chewed up the Dash XP's I won in a beach volleyball tourn. last Saturday. They'll be replaced by next week. thanks,
Couple of things you need to know before you purchase these. The polar lenses are very soft and scratch easily. Replacement lenses are pricey (around 40 clams). After a few months of wear, the lenses will "spider web" in the corners. Mine lasted nine months including new lens replacement.
If you are extreme in your activities (i.e. skydiving, tour of duty in Iraq, or extreme sports, look at the Gatorz and pass the Natives on by. The Natives are made for driving in air conditioned automobiles, no more no less.
Since 2006 Native has come out with some great new features making such claims obsolete! Including the rhyno-tuff air frames, which are a high-performance thermoplastic material that is extremely lightweight, yet durable enough to withstand high-velocity collisions and temperature extremes! The anti-ocular intrustion system is pretty awesome too! It's a revolutionary system specially designed to prevent lenses from dangerously shooting inward toward your eyes in the event of any impact. So some pretty radical improvements, a lot more substantial than competitors and goes without saying that makes them absolutely worth the dollar!
