Description

Treat your eyes to the quality polarized optics of the Native Attacks.

Protect your eyes from the sun's intense glare with the Native Eyewear Attack Polarized Sunglasses. Comfortable wrap-around frames give you plenty of coverage and interchangeable polarized lenses let you match these shades to the lighting condition. Maintain superior visual clarity in dim conditions with the Sportflex lenses. To keep your Attack Sunglasses fog-free, Native built a ram-air venting system on the brow of the frame to circulate air between your sunglasses and your face. When the going gets bumpy, expect the Attacks to stay in place thanks to the grippy rubber Mastoid temples and self-adjusting nose pads.

Love your sight

I bought these a few months ago for use during my summer job as a camp counselor. The camp was on the beach and I was frequently driving a rescue boat or paddling a kayak. These glasses are polarized and they are not too heavy. This makes them ideal for all day use in very sunny environments. I was able to make decisions about whether the sailors and kayakers should beach their boats based on how well these glasses let me observe coming storms.

They are also super stylish and I continue to wear them for driving, mowing, playing sports and everything else you can imagine.

2 drawbacks:
- The included instructions for changing lenses do not include the Attack model (or I am blind and can't read).
- The loops for the croakies are fairly large and release from the glasses easily when pulled. They are joint is strong enough to prevent the glasses from falling off your face but still too week to be entirely trusted.

Nice fit and finish but bad design

I purchased these as I've been needing new sunglasses and my wife and I are fairly active and spend quite a bit of time hiking. Imagine my dismay when we arrived back at the car and I found that one of the temple boots (the rubber boot on the end of the frame) had fallen off during the hike! The frames do not have any sort of texture or grip built into the frames - the temple portion is just a straight smooth piece of plastic.

I have been trying to get Native to send me a replacement set of boots (they sell them at $7 a pair, but I'm not about to spend more money on something that's brand new) and I am so far very disappointed with their customer support. Multiple emails have gone unanswered and the one person I am dealing with now is very rude and unhelpful.

While I really like my sunglasses (although they are too small for my head and get uncomfortable after a while, especially without temple boots!) Native's customer service and warranty process (you have to pay $30 to take advantage of the warranty - I'd say just put that money towards different glasses) has turned me off this product.

Wow - I got a big head

Missed these on the SandC site, but read the reviews and bought them here. I've always had problems with sunglasses being too narrow. These glasses are for people with wider heads. Fit and form are great. Wore them to the beach and they kept out the wind/sand well. Very lightweight. Trying to carve up some time to ride my bike with these on to test the vents and to see if they hug my head when I sweat. The Polarized lenses are nice.

Not for Me

These are not for me. They are light, but are so light they feel cheap. The pair I received was pretty gross too. The lenses were dirty from sweat and or dirt and there was a long hair stuck between the right lens and frame. I cleaned it up before I sent the glasses back.

Ultimate Functionality

Yo, recognize: These shades are completely bomber from a functional point of view. They look a little goofy with that mirror/reflex thing that went out 10 years ago, or at least that's what my wife told me. I didn't buy them for the looks though. They are wicked light and put almost no pressure on the nasal bridge, even after a long day. Great side coverage/wind block while biking. Interchangeable lenses are great. We were driving in a blinding, grey wash of a downpour on I-87 last week and we couldn't see jack. I put the sportflex lenses in (think ambervision) and suddenly you could see at least 60 feet further. Probably saved us!

Comfortable

These sunglasses are very comfortable. They have soft flexible plastic for the points that come into contact with your face - the nose guard, the upper rim (below your eyebrows), and the ear pieces. This definitely makes them feel great. They are a pretty large pair of sunglasses, so I would recommend them for someone with a bigger head.

Good full frame glasses can be improved upon.

Fit is quite wide. I measured the inside width at the hinge joint at 5". Behind that the templates spread out even further to a mx of 5.5" before tapering back down over the ears. The profile isn't as round as the throttle lending itself to wider or flatter faces. The nose bridge is also slightly narrower pulling the lenses away from your face slightly. I have a 58cm head and they are almost too wide, but work fine. Lenses go in easily, and slightly harder to get out. This indicates the lenses are held in pretty securely. Haven't had any problems with them popping out. Quality overall is good. The throttles seem to be slightly better as far as lens fit in the templates and overall quality. The rims are very thin and the templates flex a bit if you try to bend them. This causes the lenses to "squeek" as they move around every so slightly which occurs when you clean them. The throttles are stiffer and don't suffer from this nearly as much. The rubber brow area is glued on and made of high density rubber. They are ok, but I like the molded in ones better...they are less bulky. Theses are made in Italy while the throttles are made in Mauritius. I purchased the asphalt, and the finish is slightly different than the throttles in asphalt. The attacks are a flatter black and slightly gray with a almost a soft finish while the throttles are darker black with a smooth hard finish with slightly more luster. The rubber pads all around are grippy and work well. The cam action hinges were already worn out new out of the box. Maybe due to the softer plastic? I like the finish and lens fit of the throttles better, but need a wide template for high intesnsity activities, so these fit the bill.
