A smart, resilient map with all the details you need.
Headed to the Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park areas of California? First, lucky you. Second, you're going to need a well-illustrated topo map. The National Geographic Trails Illustrated Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park map will guide you around the area surrounding Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental U.S. Also featured are the John Muir, Golden Trout, Jennie Lake, and Monarch Wilderness Areas, plus the John Muir and Pacific Crest trail sections of this area. In addition to trails, campgrounds, river crossings, and points of interest, these waterproof and tear-resistant maps provide info on wilderness travel, safety, and local flora and fauna. Includes UTM grids for use with your GPS unit.
Be careful is buying the Santa Monica Mountain maps. Several trails are not up to date...I have been hiking them and have been surprised a couple times. National Geographic and State parks could do a better job at communicating.
