Plan a quick afternoon canyon hike and grab the Nathan Vector 2.0 Lumbar Pack to keep precious fluid and lightweight hiking gear quickly available. Two BPA-free Tritan bottles slide easily into mesh holders that cradle your fluids without bouncing against your back. When you need to pick up the pace to beat the sun, tighten the quick-pull compression straps and the wide, moisture-wicking waist belt . Stuff a pair of lightweight gloves or an ultra-light rain layer under the one-pull shock cord in case your casual hike meets not-so-casual wet weather.

Bottom Line: Draw your vector and conquer the mountain.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

My current hydration backpack isn't quite large enough for full-day hikes (need a little more storage space and more liquids)...Can I wear a lumbar pack like this in addition to my backpack, or would I be better off getting a larger backpack?

based on what you've said, I assume your current hydration pack doesn't have a waist-belt (or much of one), so you could wear them both, but most people wear their back packs a little lower on their backs and this will ride a little higher on your hips. Honestly, you go for day pack with a decent waist-belt, Gegory make an awesome one that my GF love, love, loves! It's light and holds everything you'd want for a day plus plenty of water (sleeve for a hydration bladder, and 2 external mesh pockets if that's your thing), but you can compress it pretty easily if your not filling it up.
