Long Runs Are Much Better Now!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently decided I needed a hydration belt as my long runs are starting to get LONG! After a little bit of research I decided to get the Nathan Speed 2 and I love it! I'm using it on any long runs (for training-not in races) of 10+ miles and it's working really well for me. It does bounce a bit, but I got used to that and as long as it fits well (this is very important) it will stay in place. I like only having two bottles so it's not too cumbersome or bulky, but still provides me with enough hydration and I can also refill them along the route I run. The back pouch is great for carrying extra fuel (energy gels) and my ID, or car key. I also like the tiny pouch on the front of the belt; it's very small, but I use it to hold my empty GU packets until I pass a trash can. The bottles hold 10oz each and they seal well. I haven't really had any trouble with leaking. Also, it's very easy to grab the bottles and replace them in their "holsters" while on the run! Overall I'm giving this product 5 stars. I'm a distance runner and I use it every weekend now on all of my long runs and it's working GREAT for me!!

Works well enough

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Nathan Speed 2 Hydration Belt comes pretty well as advertised. The belt has a simple velcro attachment. It seems to hold well and not slip much. There is no way to secure the end of the belt that overlaps past the velcro. It tends to curl up. Make sure you get one that fits.
The bottles seal better than other nathan bottles I've seen. Most seem to leak. The biggest problem is if you fill the bottles all the way, they occasionally bounce out and fall to the ground. This happens if you change stride or sprint while running. On mine, it happens less if I'm particular about which side the bottles are on (one bottle stays better if it's on the right). I've never experienced this with bottles 3/4 or less full.
Even though this happens I use this belt on every long run.
I would recommend.
