Bust out the MSR Zing Tarp for epic river trips, mountaineering basecamps, or group backpacking. This ultralight tarp provides 200 square feet of coverage for up to ten paddlers, climbers, or campers. Two tapered poles and the tarp’s inverted wing design give you a tight pitch in high winds, and the lightweight tent fabric protects your group from the scorching sun or pounding rain.

Bottom Line: Cook tarp, meeting place, sun shelter—the Zing is whatever you need it to be.

Just got this shelter and it looks like it needs the seams sealed.

Just got this shelter and it looks like it needs the seams sealed. What should kind of sealer should I seal it with?

Your best bet would be McNett's SilNet Silicon Seam Sealer because the Zing's material is a 40D SilNylon. This is the best stuff out there for seam sealing SylNylon material. Make sure you are patient and have a well ventilated area to do this. The Zing is large and will take a bit of the seam sealer, but will pay off in the end. I've used mine without sealing the seams and when under a long sustained rainstorm I do see water seep through the seams (though it hasn't been terrible). Good luck!

MSR ZING

Owned for one month and has proven very useful. Unbelievably light, doesn't seem like it will handle much but it does. It recently saved us on an ill fated canoe trip with several inches of rain. Definitely made the trip bearable that would have been otherwise miserable. Easy setup by one person in less than five minutes. Large wind resistant design. Couldn't give it five stars because of the lack of factory taped seams. Didn't realize this when I bought it, Seriously MSR... 350$ for a tarp, it is unacceptable to not have taped seams! I should actually downgraded it more for this reason but everything else was that good.
