The MSR Velo 2 person 3 season tent has a huge front vestibule for storing anything from gear to extra campers, it's that big. Perfect as a base camp tent for climbers or for storing mountain bikes, this is the tent for gear fanatics. And if you keep both mesh doors unzipped you can create a cross wind that'll keep you cool no matter where you are. But seal em up tight during a storm and you'll be warm and secure.

Bottom Line: With all the extra room for gear storage, you'll have plenty of space in the tent to roll over.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Excellent Tent

By:

Though I have not used the Velo in rain, this weekend was my first time to put it to use. Very thick fog brought heavy condensation, but I remained dry. I did not even put a tarp inside the tent underneath my Thermarest. Plenty of space under vestibule. I would have made the body a tad bigger to accommodate a second person better, but overall it is an excellent tent!

Velo in the mountains

By:

I took my Velo to the mountains in CO. Overall this tent was very good. The large vestibule held all of my gear easily. I even had room to sit down (in a camp chair) to take my shoes off. The actual tent is cozy for two people but perfect for one. It stays warm inside at night with just one person's body heat. The tent is well crafted, the stakes are awesome. I have only qualm about this tent...it takes too long to put up. This is not a big deal, but if you're riding your bike, the last thing you want to do when you get in is spend 15 minutes putting up a tent.

Great Purchase

Purchased the Velo after a month of looking at many , many styles of two
man tents and after finally getting out last week for a five day trip to Lake Umbagog Maine and have to say i made an exellent purchase.Set it up once before the trip in a half hour.Set it up under a full moon on the trip in about fifteen minutes wich will be cut in half next time out.We had Heavy fog cover the whole trip from 2:00 a.m. thru noon each day that soaked everything except the inside of my tent wich stayed dry the whole time,Vestibule held all my gear with room to spare. Can not wait to use it again.High five to the tech and design crew at MSR on this one.

Great Tent

By:

Unbelievable! I received this tent on Thursday before leaving for Daytona (Bike Week) on Friday. It was the wettest Bike week in the 16 years I've been attending. Set-up the first time was easy...I did read the directions before leaving home. The rains began about an hour after setting up and continued almost without stopping 'til the following Friday. Not a leak anywhere and I'm talking monsoon rains that flooded a large section of the campground. The huge vestibule proved invaluable as 2 of us were able to sit in camp chairs and read without getting wet. I got quite a few compliments on the vestibule alone. The small rear vestibule was sufficient to hold the bikes saddle bags as well. I look forward to many years of use from this tent.
