Great pole with one issue

I really want to give 5 stars but can't due to one small issue that might be a deal breaker for some. The poles are extremely light and the length adjustment I think is easier and quicker than the twist type. Just push in the button and push or pull to engage the next hole and lengthen or shorten. One notch is probably about the right change in length for most when adjusting for uphill or downhill. The problem with this mechanism is that it clicks everytime you plant the pole. The button has just a tiny bit of movement inside the hole which causes this click. I liked the poles so much that I came up with a way to cause some friction at the joints with electrical tape wrapped around poles. This fixed the problem for me. It seems like this would be an easy fix for MSR but living with the constant clicking would not work for me and I imagine many others. If I was not able to fix this I would give a low rating but I really like everything else about these poles and I'm glad I will be able to keep them.

Is this pole sold in pairs?
In other words: how many sticks will I get, if I order 1?

Actually, the same question goes for several poles in this web shop.

You'll get one pole only. For the same price range, why not find something that comes in pairs from Black Diamond or Leki...lend it to a friend, have a spare, give your other hand something to do...?

Heya Nomad, I didn't find an item# for a pair. Just order 2 Qty if you would like 2 poles. Feel free to call and ask for me if you have any other questions. April F. ext 4455 Monday -Friday 6am to 2:30 pm

Rule of thumb: If the product photo shows two poles, they come in a pair. Actually, most of the poles on this site do come in pairs and one "stick" is pretty rare. Got anything in particular in mind?

It is sold in pairs! I ordered 2 Qty last week and ended up with two pairs. That was quite a surprise but for this price I'm glad to have a spair pair. Package also includes snow baskets.
