A probe is just a probe, and they're all created the same, right? Wrong. MSR knows that backcountry skiers, snowboarders, and snowshoers need a tough, reliable probe, but it also knows that weight and packability are also key factors; the Striker 240 Probe is the best of both worlds. The Striker is made of high-strength 7000-series aluminum and a corrosion-resistant, coated stainless steel cord. At 13mm in diameter, the Striker features thicker walls for maximized stiffness in the effective lower sections. Tapered, quick-link ferrules and a fast, single-pull locking assembly make the most of those precious seconds in a rescue situation. The ergonomic T-handle provides a comfortable feel.
