Why We Like The MSR Revo Explore Snowshoe

The MSR Revo Explore Snowshoe gives us the grip and comfort to trek the extra mile on powder-filled trails. Equipped with aggressive teeth along the perimeter and underfoot, this pair eliminates slipping to make each stride count, while the heel risers fight off fatigue on long, steep climbs. Plus, the redesigned binding features ratcheting straps for quick entry and lightweight foam to boost shock absorption underfoot and to reduce pressure points when strapped in tight.

Light , good quality but with a default

The snowshoes ripped my snowpants with the small pin of the heel ( helper to climb mountain)

Revo Explore

I have spent countless hours in snowshoes. I hike, hunt, and work my maple syrup bush with them. I always ran with what I thought was a great snowshoe until I tried my Revo. The grip, comfort, and lightweight blew me away. When I think of the miles and miles Ive walked, I can't believe I just never knew how much better it could have been. Shame on me.

My Fav

I have used these almost every weekend during winter for 3 years, and I love them. I live in Western Colorado, and have tested these to their limit. The only issue I am having is that the springs on my bindings tend to pop out, which can make tightening my straps on the trail kinda tricky. This started happening after year 2 of use. However, I can say that the ratchet function is the single best thing about these, and it makes them stand out from the competition. I do a lot of backcountry snowshoeing in deep snow, uphill, downhill, over trees, whatever you can imagine. I just really like snowshoeing, okay?? Lol. Anyway, these have held up miraculously well, and outperformed every other snowshoe that my friends wore during our adventures. They all use the traditional strap system, and their shoes simply won't stay on. In deep snow, the snow pushes their straps off the hook, or the snow packs in between the shoe and the strap, or the strap breaks. Not so with these. The straps fall off maybe once a month, in seriously weird conditions. I cannot say enough how much I love these! As a short female, though, I look forward to upgrading this year into the women's version so that I can try out that narrower stride. I do often step on my own shoes because I am very smol. Other than the buckle spring and my own extreme smolness, there is nothing I would do to change these shoes. I would recommend to anyone who wants to go off of a groomed trail.

Revo Explore 25

Just received mine and they look great. Just noticed the 4 little empty holes on the front edge. The black plastic cutouts leaves them accessible. Is there a function for these, like an add-on product?

COULD BE BETTER

I've been on four snowshoes hikes with my Revo Explore snowshoes. I think the straps should be twice as thick, and the ratchet controls and releases should be bigger and easier to operate with gloves or mittens. I think these snowshoes were designed by people sitting at computers instead of snowshoeing on trails.

Great for snowboarding

+solid weight +traction/grip +Televator for walking on a steep slope (contruction could be better) +HyperLink binding is ideal for smaller snowboard shoe (approx max 44-45? - I have 43 Thirty Two Prion) +probably more durable than Lightning +a bit flexible - good for traverses and uneven, bumpy surface -binding packability for downhill is worse than usual ordinary textile straps (but not bad) -Televator could be more robust and could have MORE TILT ANGLE SETTINGS -the metal frame could be REPLACEABLE and GRINDABLE similar to the crampons -possibility to use bigger snowboard boots Try to develop: Some binding system similar to semiautomatic crampons (with possibility to use this binding as a semiautomatic crampons independently) Some binding system using arbitrary snowboard binding (similar idea to splitboard) Possibility to change only binding system for different boot type not the base deck (=frame with plastic) Make your snowshoes to have maximal possible replaceable parts

Like Jeep for my Feet!

These things are amazing! I don't understand the reviews about the bindings and their comfort. They are SUPER easy to use, and super comfortable. It might have a lot to do with what shoes you use. But they appear well built, and they float great in the snow. And the grip...oh the grip! It's literally like having a CJ on each foot. I can get in places that I never dared on foot alone, and they are quick to strap on and light to carry in--a great purchase.
