What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    1.7L ?

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

It has a max fill line at 1.0L mark and the last marking is at 1.5L. 1.7L would be all the way to the brim. So actually its a smaller volume than expected.

Also the lid on the 1.7L doesn't have the same porting as the 1L and 2.5L that i've seen. The 1.7L I have only has one small port that you can't very well use to pour with. I guess its just there to vent steam pressure.

There are also some other differences like in the lid handle.

Otherwise the Reactor is a great stove system. Be sure to keep all of its components dry for storage.

I do not like canister systems for various reasons, but I really like the reactor idea in terms of efficiency. I have a pot with a similar baffle on the bottom that works great, but after years of use I think I need a replacement. Has anyone used this type of pot with an MSR dragonfly stove?

Eh, yeah it "works" meaning the contents will get hot eventually. You are putting a flame to the bottom. I guess my question is why? Why not save some money and get something like

Unless of course you have the Reactor, or intend to buy the Reactor in the future. I totally recommend buying the Reactor. I dont love canister stoves, they their drawbacks as do liquid fuel but, man the Reactor is just sooo efficient. On a big 30 day glacier trip we just brought both, a Reactor and an XGK. To be honest though, I mostly just use the Reactor for weekend trips, sucks to carry the extra weight of an empty canister or two but, man this thing melts snow.

I've got the 1.7L pot - but want the 1.0L. Do MSR/Backcountry sell the 1.0L pot separately?
