The MSR Quick 1 Titanium Cooking System gives the solo backpacker or climber the ultralight convenience they need to grub up on the go. With a single 1.4-liter titanium pot, a lid that doubles as both a pasta strainer and a plate, and an insulated stainless steel mug, this kit helps you refuel without weighing down your pack. The attached pot grabber folds over to secure the lid, eliminating the need for a stuff sack.

Bottom Line: The all-in-one cook kit for the ultralight soloist.

Hey Michell,

Nope, both The Quick 1 and the smallest Deep Dish Plate have an outside diameter of 6.75".

Does the job

This is a nice pot that will boil a liter of water. The lid doubles as a strainer and a plate, not the greatest though. It works perfect with the MSR pocket rocket stove and the fuel canister fits inside. The mug does add just a bit of weight, but is a neat design and since its ether the fuel or mug that fits int he pot I dont feel it makes that big of a difference. The pot actually has worked fine for a buddy and I on a 2 day summer climb, when we did one hot meal at night and coffee in the morning. If you plan on using this to melt snow, I would recommend a bigger pot, and that will probably work better with a bigger stove...

The outside diameter is 6.75". Yes, the detail photo above will show you basically how the system works for holding the lid secure when closed. Another part of the closure system are a pair of small rubber ears that stick out slightly from the rubbberized lid grab. If you look at the lid in the main photo, you can see them protruding slightly. The slot in in the middle of the handle (Talon) sort of clicks over these to keep the lid secure. MSR has a nice pot design in these. I personally use the Quick 2 set and the Exo 2, and they're some of my favorites.

Just get the pot

By:

I bought this thinking that the mug would be useful, but I found that it just ads weight. The pot is great and gets 5 stars from me. However the mug is just unnecessary. It works for what it is, and is nice for winter camping but def. leave it at home in the summer.

Great work MSR

This MSR pot is a very nice item. I have used it several times and I love it more with every use. The best part is that it cools down extremely fast. You can boil water in it and as soon as you empty the pot it will be normal temperature after only a few moments. I highly recommend this item if you are looking for a pot.
