The stove WILL FIT in the kettle. You need to take the top off the red container and fit it at an angle and then it drops in. It is tight, but definitiely fits. I put the stove in the kettle with the red lid on top and some matches wrapped up. Makes for a compact efficient stove/kettle combo. I love mine.
