I knew the 25" lightning shoes were going to be best for me, but I did want the option of lengthening them when the powder gets deep or the load gets heavy. MSRs lightning snowshoes are all made more versatile by the tail option. Easy to afix and a big difference maker, these tails can mitigate the harshest conditions.
I noticed that this item is not in stock, will you be getting anymore in? I'm in the process of buying the MSR Lightning Ascent snowshoes for my boyfriend for Christmas and he also wanted this too. Can you let me know? I will wait till I hear back from you. Thank you!
Nanette,
Great question! I'm currently checking to see when/if we'll be getting more. We should be getting more. Lets connect via email and I can keep you updated on this once I get more info.
Shoot me an email if you've got any questions!
is this for a set of 2?
Christopher,
This is definitely for a set of 2.

Can the tails easily be taken on/off in the woods?
Other problem: Will the shoes (tails afixed) fit into the bag that has been made for them? I'd be purchasing the 25", tails and bag, if they all get along.
I was told by Backcountry Rep that tails are easy on/off. So, it's a go!
Whoa! All 3 at my door the next day.
Yeah, tails easy on/off
Awesome.
Will these work with the MSR lightning...
Will these work with the MSR lightning Ascent Women's 22" snowshoe?
I think they will work with that style snowshoe but Amazon has a disclaimer that reads (Not compatible with Lightning-frame snowshoes released before the 2010-2011 season). You might want to contact MSR to verify.
These tails will work on any model in the lightning snowshoe line. Though it is correct that these tails will not work on lightning frame snowshoes released before the 2010-2011 season. I talked with MSR about this and they said they had to modify the frame slightly to make the tail work the way they wanted it to. In the end they didn't want to sacrifice on design to force them on to the older model.
