All the MSR E-Wing Tarp asks of you is one extra pound of weight in your pack, a pair of hiking poles for end supports, and a love for ultralight trail shelters. Staying dry while you sleep doesn't get much simpler than this minimalist tarp construction of lightweight, waterproof Durashield. Have a buddy who wants to join you on a through hike? In a pinch, the E-Wing accommodates a second sleeping bag when pitched A-frame style, or you can get creative and set it up in any fashion you choose. Even if you've already got a lightweight tent, this shelter is the ideal choice for an emergency backup.
Bottom Line: Built for those who fret over the weight of their zipper pulls.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Rather than dreading the notion having to set up a tent as darkness approaches, I actually can't wait to try all the different combinations to find the perfect shelter for the night...
Change me.
