Hey James,

It is designed for backpacking, and gives you a good selection containers and utensils to choose from, but that's just it...to choose from. And, it has no pots or pans included. If I'm cooking real food, and need some spices, a mixing bowl, utensils, etc...what it contains comes in handy, and by the time you price all the components out separately, it starts looking like a pretty good value. I love the folding spatula, spoon, strainer (get them, regardless) and the little plastic bottles always come in handy, sometimes a little cutting board, but I buy my zip locks by the box and usually use the bowl I eat out of for mixing. An extra pound of stuff is an extra pound I have to carry. But if you have several people in your group, dividing up the kitchen essentials is a whole lot easier and democratic than trying to carry it all yourself. So, not necessarily good, not necessarily bad...it serves its purpose, and comes in handy if you need it. As for car camping- that gear is like a second kitchen. It's usually a lot more extensive than what you see here, and I'm sure glad I don't have to carry all that stuff any further than from the car to the picnic table. At any rate, hope that answered your question to some degree at least.

Pretty Sweet

I really like this kitchen. It's got everything you need for making meals that actually taste good in the backcountry. Well, it comes with a place to store everything you need I should say. Great product. Cutting board is nice, as is having a sponge.

Cool but just a little awkward

Really great kitchen, comes with about everything you need but just a little awkward in a backpack. Maybe it would be better with the MSR pot it is supposed to nest in.
