The Baggy is the backcountry twintip offering from Swiss wunderkind Movement Skis. If your day on the slopes involves waking up early, building a kicker in the woods all morning, and boosting huge corked 7's, road gaps and lawn darts into neck-deep fluff until sunset, this is your ski. It has the girth and muscle to keep you afloat and charging in the terrain that leaves most resort jib skis whining for a grooming crew. Movement's exotic wood core and handmade quality come standard of course, so if you are seeking a switch-capable backcountry ski with race-room attention to detail, you are looking for the Baggy.

Bottom Line: Let your steeze flow in the backcountry with the Movement Baggy.

Love 'em!

I demoed these skis the other day and loved them. They have enough girth to be awesome in pow and crud yet have enough stiffness and sidecut to haul on groomers. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the creepy guy wearing a gas mask.

how will this ski hold up in the park?

It will be "all right" in the park. The wide waist width will be a nice landing platform on big jumps and the wood core will withstand plenty of abuse. But if you are skiing only park I would probably go for something a little smaller and narrower just because that will be lighter and have less spin weight, therefore it will be more maneuverable. It is also a big ski to be sliding rails and boxes with as most people use something smaller. The Movement Baggy Alpine Ski will not be out of place in the park but there are more park specific options out there if that is your main focus.

Nimble Jibber

This ski rocks in the pow, and provides excellent float. Try imaging a perfect park ski for pow days and here's where you'd find it. With a soft flex and massive girth under foot this ski makes every feature on the mountain seem like the perfect jump. Great in the deep stuff, also surprisingly quick and nimble on hard pack. If building a backcountry booter is your idea of a perfect day, then this is your perfect ski.

Pretty Stiff

By: Backcountry.com Employee

These were an alright ski, but for some reason, I felt that they were too stiff, especially in the tip, for what they were meant for. I have skied both the 4Frnt VCT and the Rossignol Steeze extensively, and in powder I would pick the Steeze. For Crud I would pick the VCT, and for all mountain I would pick the Steeze. I am not saying that I hated this ski, but I felt that in the tip it was too stiff to be deflected by ice and too stiff to really float in pow. I did not get to ski this ski in very deep snow though, so I cannot say that my review is extensive.
