Got this bag to carry my Canon 40D w/ grip, 3 lenses, flash, and all the other accessories I will ever use out in the field. The moveably padding dividers keeps my gear from banging around, the shoulder strap is super comfy, the hip belt helps keep the load secure. I've had this out for 10+ miles hiking, and have felt it to be extremely comfortable, not to mention the convenience of the external water bottle pocket. I have used the included rain cover on a couple of occasions, and it has a secure, reliable fit. But as will all rain covers, it isn't going to make the pack completely waterproof. When I initially purchased this pack, I thought I would get the shoulder strap harness accessory, but found didn't didn't make the pack any more comfortable. I found the included shoulder strap to be more secure in carrying this pack. Having the top lid open away from you makes it very convenient to grab gear on the go, and provides a stable platform for changing out lenses. Solid pack!

Great bag for traveling around with. Feels really durable. It has a lot of little extra pockets which is great for carrying accessories. The padded belt is great and comfortable.

I know there is a Mountainsmith camera bag...

I know there is a Mountainsmith camera bag that has a waterproof shell for when the weather gets bad. Does this have a rain shell that covers the pack or anything similar?

Yes, the Tour FX has a detachable raincover.

100% of the time I am over packed with climbing gear and have little to no room in my pack for any camera. Since I got the Tour FX bag from Mountain Smith it has been a much better experience. Some of my favorite features on the back are the moveble padding compartments for my lenses and camera along with lots of little pockets for all the odds and ends I usually find useful on any climbing trip. One of the most useful features is the padded waist belt which I discovered on the bag while ice climbing in Colorado this winter. The belt holds the back securely in what way you need it and the zip up lid opens away from yourself so it doesn't get in the way when your suspended 80 feet off the ground.

I find that when I already have a full pack when hiking or climbing I can just fill up the bag and head out with it slung over my shoulder hanging down on my chest. This makes it easily accessible for during the hike.

Five star bag, love it.

What is the waist belt webbing width 1 or 2 ".

The waistbelt is much larger, it is built to carry moderate loads and wrap your hip bones to support the pack. The webbing is only for the buckles.

Hope this helps
