Why We Like The Glissade 7075 Winter Trekking Poles

Whether you're snowshoeing to a backcountry yurt or skinning with a splitboard for fresh tracks, grab the Mountainsmith Glissade Winter Trekking Poles for durable support and compact packing. The two-piece design collapses to 31.5 inches, easily small enough to fit on your snowboard pack for the ride down. Carbide tips are tough enough to punch through any layer, and the molded TPR handles are comfortable and secure in your hand. An extended grip down the shaft lets you choose the grip position that works for the conditions.

Sturdy, but straps are annoying

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are nice sturdy aluminium poles, good hand grips, good baskets. I use them snowshoeing and all hiking all year, going strong after about 9 months with 2-5 days use per week in the Rockies. Only complaint is that the straps both come undone and cause some irritation on bare hands. The way straps are supposed to be used means we rely on the straps (instead of death-gripping the foam handles), so them coming loose is pretty annoying and dangerous. If you can sew a bit or swap them out, you can fit it.
