For years, I've been toting around a "hard" cooler for my beverages...I picked this "soft" cooler up after recently seeing one in use on an MTB trip to the desert.
Mountainsmith has done a pretty good job with this cooler. It's a simple design, has a couple of nice buzzes and whistles (built in opener!) and keeps ice intact for a good 4 hrs + in warmer weather. The fold down can holder is a "game changer".....really.

In the bottom of this soft sided cooler is a plastic flap that gives cooler its shape. The flap leaked and now I have a mini waterbed in the bottom of the cooler! lol Everything thing else about this product is purfect! Backcountry has sent out a replacement. I will see if it happens again. Great customer service from Backcountry thanks again.

This cooler is hands-down the best soft-walled cooler I've ever picked up. It does a great job keeping beverages cold and the waterproof lining does a great job keeping melt water in. The three pockets are great additions and the fold-down cup holder is a neat novelty.
