Whether you run into town before that big storm hits or go for a weekend climb, the Mountain Khakis Women’s Alpine Pant’s thoughtful design and durability will see you through. Mountain Khakis’ custom-made, double-ply, cotton duck canvas increases abrasion-resistance without bulking up these pants. Triple-stitched seams and bar-tacked reinforced stress areas mean you can do your worst this season and it still won't be rough enough to wear down the Mountain Khakis Alpine Pant.
You need these pants. If you have been wearing your boyfriend's carhartts all these years, or even if you finally bit the bullet on some of those women's carhartts, you need these pants. Range of motion, thanks to the somehow magical cut, is exceptional for such heavy-duty fabric. Durability goes without saying--I'd say they are sturdier than just about any carhartts, in all honesty. Stitch quality is far superior. The fit is great, at least for me. Some say they run small, but I find them true to size relative to other outdoor apparel. The fit is trim and classy enough that I feel alright wearing them to work, then taking them on an afternoon hike, then spending all weekend doing carpentry and splitting firewood... Yes, you will be more bad-as* in these pants. They are the Chuck Norris of pants.
These pants are tough. I will go ahead and advise that you wear them for 8 weeks straight. Yes, do it! They are that tough to break in. Price is high, but so is the utility and value! These are do it all pants, more than qualified for the pants party.
The fit is true and the gusseted crotch is pretty awesome. haha. I didn't think the crotch of pants made that much of a difference but its pretty awesome when you're stepping high or just wanna chill.
I have had two pairs of this pant in size ten. The ten's have been a little loose, but comfortable. These pants are heavy and start out quite stiff. They do soften with wear, but stay somewhat rigid. I ordered a ten in these and it was about 2" smaller in the waist than my others, as well as smaller in general. I had to return them. If you order the correct size, I recommend them as a good work pant. Comparable to Carhardt in function.

I have work Alpine pants for a few years now and I love them so much I just bought another pair (have to wait for them to go on sale, they sure are pricey!).
As a wildlife biologist, I spend my days sliding over rocks, crashing through spiny plants, riding ATVs, climbing into wolf dens, using machinery, and hiking on steep slopes. I trust these pants to protect my legs through it all, from the slopes and scrublands of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to the rocky deserts of Arizona. These are easily some of the best-fitting pants I've ever owned, and women are constantly asking me about them ("What are those and where can I get a pair!?"). I am 5'6", 135 lbs, and the 6 regular fits perfectly with my boots on (tad long, but the legs are narrow enough they sit on your boots). I did, sadly, manage to tear a hole in the legs on some fencing one night, but that pair took years of abuse before and will take many more once I sew up the tear.
Alpine pants are stiff and thick, and you will definitely get hot working in them in warmer weather (especially in the 90s+F). They also don't dry quickly unless you're in arid environments. These sacrifices are worth it, however, for the amazing protection these pants offer. BUY them!
I own 2 pairs! I work in the mining industry and can be in the office one minute & mine site the next. Carhart is a joke compaired to these. Filson Tin Cloth for women would be a much better description. Figure flattering, comfortable....I could go on and on. The men I work with want to know what kind of pants these are because they see the abuse they take.
Fashion forward for a gal who wants to look like a girl & work like a man. They look great with my Brighton sunglasses & West Coast Loggers :-)
Do not buy this product! they are overpriced and do not stand behind their product. I love the gusseted crotch, however they are not built to last. I bought a pair 3 months ago and yesterday, I literally sat down in my office and the pants ripped. Not along a seam, just ripped right in the middle of the leg fabric. There wasn't even a whole there to cause a rip! I had to leave the office and head home to change. I contacted the customer service, and they basically responded "what do you want us to do...", well stand behind your product and replace them! If they cannot withstand the rigors of the workplace, how then on the Mtn will they hold up? These should be called Bunny slope Khakis. The only thing Mtn about them is the overpriced price tag. If you want something that will last and is a solid investment, buy Carhartt or Patagonia. At least they stand behind their product. If I had actually worn them this weekend on my backpacking trip, I would be left half naked on the hillside. Do not buy!!!
Nice pant for chilly evenings camping, hiking. Order a size larger than normal, especially if you like a little room. Very fashionable. Stylish. I really like these!
These pants are perfect. The fabric is wonderful and the fit is much more feminine than Carhartts. They do run small, however. I am 5'5" and weight 125 lbs and needed a size 10, which is a bit crazy. But now that they have been washed a few times, they are super soft.
I love these pants. They look much nicer than my Carhartts and are softer. I wore them when working outside for an entire season and they still look great. They fit true to size (considering that this style of pant is not going to be very fitted). Great pants for work, yard work, a hike (on a dry day), or hanging around a fire!
You need these pants. If you have been wearing your boyfriend's carhartts all these years, or even if you finally bit the bullet on some of those women's more...
These pants are tough. I will go ahead and advise that you wear them for 8 weeks straight. Yes, do it! They are that tough to break in. Price is high, more...
