lasagna in a bag

By:
February 4, 2011

This was pretty good; like other reviewers, I had some concerns about lasagna in a bag, but it tasted good. No way this is two servings, at 210 calories it is not going to be enough after a day on the trail. If you're planning to share, bring a side dish such as the pita bread another reviewer mentioned, or you're going to go hungry.

Pretty darn good

I was reluctant about this particular MH for some reason. Maybe it was because lasagna is typically cut into squares, and eating it out of a pouch made it seem too much like eating slop. Once I finally ate it however, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I will definitely be taking this again on my next trip.

Surprisingly good!

Not bad - I would definitely buy one of these again. We poured boiling water straight into the bag and had no problems with crunchy noodles.

A two-serving entree, however, is for just one person if you've been working hard.

Yummy!!!

On our most recent five night trip into the backcountry, this was our meal on night five...and what a relief it it was to have something that tased like it had been made a home! Definetly helpful to presoak so that the noodles weren't crunchy and to reheat the bag prior to serving so that the meal was as warm as possible when we were ready to dig in!!

delish.

This was really tasty. I haven't used dry-pack camp food much before, but this made me a believer. I will be buying more! But it is really only a single serving. I shared with my girlfriend, and we ended up cooking another pot because we were both still hungry.

Tastes good after a long hike

I just tried this entree for the first time after hiking 3000 feet up with a loaded pack, and I have to say it hit the spot. I did share my mine with another person, and it did fill me up alright but we had pita bread with it too. I was impressed with how well the lasagna cooked after being freeze dried. I have had the spaghetti and the noodles didn't cook that well but I was satisfied and impressed with the texture of this meal. Definitely try one out!
