One of the best
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The Mountain House Turkey Tetrazzini meal is always one of my favorites. It has plenty of flavor, always re-hydrates fully, and is plenty filling. It doesn't carry quite as many calories per serving as some of their other options but still will fill the tank back up after a long day on the trail. For my tastes, it has plenty of salt but always needs just a bit of pepper to round out the flavor.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Hearty, warm belly dinner that pairs excellently with chilly, rainy evenings far from home.
Tasty, but should you trust me?
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I enjoyed Mountain House Turkey Tetrazzini.
I thought this was a pretty tasty dinner. The vegetables tasted good and had nice, individual flavor - I could differentiate between green beans and carrots. The whole thing was a hearty turkey stew that wasn't overly salty.
I'm not sure if my opinion should hold sway with anyone because I don't like tetrazzini in general.
Do you remember being a little kid and going over to a friend's house for dinner? Their mom would make food but it wouldn't taste like your mom's food, there would be this cognitive dissonance - "you're calling this spaghetti but Mom's spaghetti tastes WAY different."
I don't know what to tell you. If you love turkey tetrazzini, this MH pouch might not do the trick for you. I loathe tetrazzini. My grandmother always tries to poke it at me during hellish post-Thanskgiving dinners, I used to make excuses but now I just tell her that tetrazzini is a foul corruption of otherwise tasty leftovers and I'll have no part in it!
I waffled a lot between 3 and 4 stars. I settled on 4 because there's nothing wrong with MH TT, it just didn't WOW me like some MH meals have.
Thanksgiving leftovers, freeze dried!
I'm an idiot.
I keep intending to take before & after pics of freeze dried meals. This almost never works out because once the meal is rehydrated I tend to forget about photography in favor of FEASTING.
