Love it

This jacket gives just the right amount of middle layer. I love the stretch ability and free movment.

Too thin to be of use

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Thin doesn't begin to describe this jacket. You can literally see through it if you hold it up to light. I'd try it to see if the claimed "Puff up to keep you warm" has any semblance of function, but I'm not going to risk $130(SAC)-$170 to see if it is warm enough. I bought it as an additional layer under a shell for work outside as a ski instructor, and I need something that has, you know... actual material, and actual insulation, not air.
Nicely made, nicely tailored. It's just that it's nicely made tissue paper.

I am surprised that this MH product you can see through it. I have the Thermal Q Elite in my gloves and it does make a difference. I do have a similar jacket from Burton that I got a couple of years ago with the combination of synthetic and fleece. I wear it under my MH G50 soft-shell when I did extra warmth. On top of that is my MH hardshell with the Dry Q Elite. This has been excellent combination for skiing. Depending on the temperature conditions, sometimes I wear the the Burton and the hardshell. I have switched back to MH products in the last 2 years due to the vast improvements they have made.

Never trust a review from someone who's never used the product. Or looked at it then returned it. AKA- don't judge a book by its cover. I think this jacket is a great mid-layer or shell for mild winter conditions . Super packable, perfect for skinning or similar cold weather activities.
