Description

Suddenly cotton pants seem so helpless.

Sleet, snow, or sunshine, the Men's Winter Wander Softshell Pant fends off the elements so you can enjoy a cold winter day on your snowshoes or hiking boots. When you toss on a pack and start to explore the woods, you'll appreciate how the low-profile waistband doesn't get in the way of the bottom of your bag and how the four-way stretch material flexes as you trudge through deep snow.

  • Semi-fitted cut cuts down on bulk without inhibiting your ability to layer underneath
  • TufStretch fabric balances durability with flexibility so you can move around on the trail without feeling held back
  • Wide, low-profile waistband won't interfere with a pack when you're going for high-mileage hikes
  • Full-length inseam gusset allows for full range of motion in the legs and crotch

Seem to hold up well and the fit is great. Mountain hardwear pants are my go to for climbing. I like that they're not thicker to leave the ability to layer and not get too hot on a sunny approach.

Bought these for snow shoeing, winter hiking, and dog walking. The lack of internal cuff to keep snow out is a bummer, but not a deal breaker. For pants that are labeled as 'water resistant' I found them to be very dry. Wore them for extended periods in rain and they never soaked through.

The facts as I found them: These are not fleeced or insulated at all. The are quite water proof after 2 washings. The large is roomy on my 36" waist. Stains and scuffs wipe off with a damp cloth. Best part is their stretchy fabric which has made them my go to pants for wearing long underwear with for winter hikes. I like the side thigh zip pocket for glasses and/or keys. No other pockets have zips. They look more like jeans or regular pants than technical pants--a plus for me.

Ive used them mainly for climbing and winter hiking in the snow. They have kept me dry, are super stretchy and allow for complete freedom of movement. They also look good enough to wear into town after a day in the mountains.
