I usually wear a Large T and I bought this shirt in a Large but it fits big . Just wondering if the shirt will shrink at all?

Responded on

Polyester doesn't shrink.

As expected

After using Mountain Hardwear on a AT thru-hike it became one of my favorite gear brands. I am always looking for a deal on their gear. This shirt is just what it advertises. It wicks great and fits correct on me. I've had issues on other Mountain Hardwear clothing not fitting but once you find your size in their products its good to go.

as good as expected

Medium was good for me.
I'm slim built: 6'1'', 159lb, 15.5 shirt, 38 jacket.

road tripping a string of dayhikes

I have been wearing these in the heat this summer and have been impressed with the comfort and drying qualities. Others have mentioned stink factor. All my clothes stink on backpacking trips, even wool, it just happens, it's part of the backpacking funk. If there are streams or lakes to dunk in, then all is cool. And these dry so much faster than wool. On dayhikes I really don't care, I wear deodorant and I shower at the end of the day. I can sink wash my clothes in the motel if I'm road tripping a string of dayhikes.

On the wear factor, I'm OK with that, too. For the cost, they hold up just fine, one of these shirts only costs what I spend on half a tank of gas to get me to the trailhead and back, or the cost of lunch for me and my hiking buddies.

They are super comfy and light, it's worth it in the summer heat, especially on desert hikes. I continue to be impressed with the quality of Mountain Hardwear's stuff.

Wicked!

Super comfortable, and keeps me dry when it gets super hot out! The only thing is, they are durable, but not super durable. I have a small hole under my armpit from the chafing of my pack. The Chitosan finish is great and it keeps things from getting funky on climbing trips.

Meh

Fits well and looks good, but doesn't deliver on its promises as well as wool does. It didn't keep me as cool as wool and left me smelling ripe even though it does wick OK. Wool just does a much better job at these things.

So true with the smell factor: this shirt STINKS like raw onion on a sunny day for trips longer than 3 or 4 hours.

wicked wicker

Cut a bit big, usually an xl will be a bit snug on this but this was a bit on the baggy side, not unbearably so. Does what its supposed to do, pulls the sweat away then dries decently. Cool shirt, literally.

Great shirt!

Great shirt. I have a bunch of them and wear them for all outdoor activities and under my srubs working in the ER. Much better than the Patagonia T's

Love it

Just bought 2 more of these AWESOME shirts for my husband! Great for hiking and the gym. The material is super light-weight and dries fast. Fits true to size.

Better than Capilene

I'll take this T over my Patagonia Capilene 1 any day of the week; it has a much better fit around the neck and shoulders. Like everyone else said- wicks very well and comfortable under a pack. Not the greatest 'stink' resistant, but it won't make your entire pack smell rank after being worn for several days like other synthetics- a great deal for around $25.

Yep!

Wight like a down and dry (when i run) like the desert

Soft

I really like this shirt. It wicks moisture well and has a nice and soft feel on your skin. I have worn it wearing heavy packs and it was comfortable on my shoulders. If the shirt does get wet it dries quickly.

The only downside is I question the durability. It has slight piling in the wear areas.

Great for hiking and the gym!

I bought one of these for my hubby and he wears it whenever he gets the chance! It is super comfortable: lightweight, wicks well, and doesn't smell after a long, summer hike.

Fantastic Buy

Got this piece on SAC about a year ago and it has been my go to warm weather top since. I've used it for just about everything; indoor climbing, trail running, trekking, road cycling. The fabric is light and stretchy, allowing totally unencumbered range of movement when climbing. It breathes well, keeps you dry and cool, protects against UV, and rather surprisingly manages to smell reasonably clean after some abuse. I've put it through a hard year of use, and there are only a few small tears that are more a reflection of misuse than lack of workmanship. Overall, a great buy from a good company that consistently offers reasonably priced alternatives.

Also - I'm 5'11", 170 lb and a medium fit like a charm!
