Mountain Hardwear Wicked Lite Double T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

A wicked-lightweight tee is great to workout in, but a wicked-smelly tee is not a great side-effect of your workout. Mountain Hardwear used a natural Chitosan antimicrobial treatment to help control odor in your Wicked Lite Double T-Shirt. This soft tee also wicks moisture and dries quickly.

Bottom Line: Wicked sweet.

One of my favorites!

The wicked lite short and long sleeve shirts are awesome. These are the lightest , and coolest shirts I've found. I wear these both mountain biking in the Texas heat and while backpacking in cooler climates as well. You can use them as a layering piece when it gets cool or as a great sweltering heat alternative to going shirtless (the latter being a bad look in most cases). The ONLY drawback is that these should probably be hand washed. I have put these in a front load washer on delicate/cold and found they will develop snags fairly easily.

impressed with the comfort and drying qualities

By:
August 22, 2011

I have been wearing these in the standard Wicked Lite version in the heat this summer and have been impressed with the comfort and drying qualities. I prefer the lower-key appearance of those to the Double Lite version and I save a few bucks for post-hike pizza and beer.

Others have mentioned stink factor. All my clothes stink on backpacking trips, even wool, it just happens, it's part of the backpacking funk. If there are streams or lakes to dunk in, then all is cool. And these dry so much faster than wool. On dayhikes I really don't care, I wear deodorant and I shower at the end of the day. I can sink wash my clothes in the motel if I'm road tripping a string of dayhikes.

On the wear factor, I'm OK with that, too. For the cost, they hold up just fine, one of these shirts only costs what I spend on half a tank of gas to get me to the trailhead and back, or the cost of lunch for me and my hiking buddies.

They are super comfy and light, it's worth it in the summer heat, especially on desert hikes. I continue to be impressed with the quality of Mountain Hardwear's stuff.

True performance shirt

By:
April 22, 2011

I have tried almost every kind of performance shirt out there everything from Nike to The North Face, and in my humble opinion there is nothing performance about them. None of them are any different than a 9 dollar Champion shirt from Target. With that said the Mountain Hardwear Wicked Lite shirt stands on its own as the only true performance shirt that does everything that they claim all the other shirts do. Granted it is about 10 bucks more than most shirts and it’s a shame that you have to throw down 35 bucks for a good shirt but this one is worth it.
The shirt is built tough, doubled stitched with soft seams on the inside so there is absolutely zero irritation. It truly wicks, keeps you dry and cool, and when you’re done running or working out you don’t smell like a dirty gym, in fact my wife cannot smell me at all, and that is saying allot since like most women she has a bionic nose. The shirt fits better than any shirt I have worn! I wear a XL but I’m not a 300 lb fat guy, but most brands XL looks like it’s made for a 300 lb fat guy. Maybe soon I will be down to a size Large but until then I don’t want to look like some baggy shirt freaky fat guy trying to not look like I’m fat while I’m working out.
You put this shirt on and you will already look like you have completed 6 weeks of the P90X workouts, I don’t know how they cut this shirt but as soon as I put it on people say “man your dropping weight fast” and it’s not that I just want it to look like I’m in shape, the point is, it’s motivating and it makes you feel good. I feel like I am an well trained athlete in this shirt and that motivates you to perform like one.
I have never had a single piece of clothing affect me in such a positive way, so I am serious… buy this shirt and you will not regret it! In fact buy as many as you can before their gone, REI is almost out of them but Backcountry.com still has the biggest selection right now. This is the shirt for athletes and those who are becoming athletes.

I have worn the wicked lite for days up mountains and down, on my bike a few times, running in the rain, and running on 90 degree days, all without washing it once. Sounds gross but the shirt smells like nothing. After I get a few more I will have a chance to rotate them to get washed, but for now I have only one and its always dry and never smells.

Does the Trick

By:
April 13, 2012

I have the Justo Trek which I'm told was replaced by the Wicked Light Double. In any case, all of these performance shirts by MH are quality pieces and perform as advertised. I got mine primarily for summer time backpacking. I live in the southeast and tripping around the AT in the summer, with 40 pounds on your back can be a sweaty endeavor. This shirt is just what the doctor ordered and does the trick. It's very light weight, breaths like it's not even there and dries REALLY fast. I stop to take a quick break, drop my backpack and by the time I get going again this thing is dry. What more can you ask for?

Mountain Hardwear Wicked Lite Double T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

By: Backcountry.com Employee
May 5, 2011

This is a great fitting technical shirt. I have had it and put it to the test over the past weeks and it has held up very well. It seems pretty durable compared to some of the other shirts out there. You can't go wrong getting this. I am 6'3" 220lbs and the XL fit great.

Old question, I know, but the answer may still be helpful. This is essentially the same shirt as the Wicked Lite T, with the "Double" referring to the contrasting two-tone design. They are very nice shirts, and I actually prefer the more low-key appearance of the standard Wicked Lite, which also saves me a couple bucks over this one.

Wicker lite? Not sure what you are referring to. This fabric is the same as the Wicked Lite fabric being used in our Wicked Tees. Cheers!

The shirt off my back...

By:
April 14, 2009

Just got this yesterday and ran 10 miles in the dirt with it upon my back. If I were a nicer trail geek I'd give it to you, but I really like it and am going to keep it! Lightweight and breathable!

Great T

By:

Basically you gunna get a pretty simmilar running shirt from any brand for 35 bucks. The thing I like about this one over my nike, north face or adidas shirts is the materials. Although I do prefer nike's fit over most of the other brands, I find the materials on this shirt to be mor comfortable than any brooks, nike, asics or whatever other brands I buy from. Very highly recommended for trail running. I don't use shirts like these for anything but trail running and working out so I can't say how well it works for hiking or whatever.

Great performance

By:

I bought this to test out Mountain Hardwear's performance line of shirts. I was quite impressed, though it's a bit thinner material than I was expecting. Wicks moisture quickly and very brightly colored. Highly recommend!

Stay dry!

By:
June 23, 2010

I have had the opportunity to wear this shirt from the trailhead of Mt. Elbert to approx 11,600 ft, made camp and wore it again to the summit and it was very comfortable, airy as it stayed dry and great base layer. I imagine it didn't smell too bad, as my mountainerring partner/Dad didn't complain!

light and cool

By:

Amazingly soft and feels great. Used it on a three day camping trip into the backcountry in the Cloud Peak Wilderness in Wyoming Bighorn Mountains. Wicked sweat away very nicely but stayed dry. I'm not sure of the durablilty but the shirts feels great. Nice visible color. Must have for summer outdoor stuff.

Light T

By:
January 24, 2010

I have had this shirt for about a year now and it is one of my go to's for either hitting the gym or going out in the sweltering hot sun. Although I like the MH belay shirt a little better for being more stretchy and feeling better to the touch, this T seems to have better wicking quality.

Perfect running shirt?!?

By:
June 1, 2009

First, I have to admit that this was the first piece of apparel I've ever bought where fashion was a primary consideration. We bought 12 matching men's and women's green shirts for our Wasatch Back relay team. My wife has a 'vintage' wicked tee that she absolutely loves, so we wanted to stick with a winner. The contrasting panels are the same material, just a different color. So just for style.
OK, performance-wise, the shirt is perfect. It feels like you're not even wearing a shirt. The material wicks very well, and is very comfortable. I've run for 2+ hours in pretty warm conditions and never felt any chafing coming on. And the new runners on our team, the ones who've never run in a technical tee before, overcame the sticker shock and are now converts.
We'll see about the anti-microbial after 30 hours of running and driving during the relay. Hope it works.

Solid Performance T-shirt

By:
June 17, 2009

This t-shirt is a perfectly nice wicking performance T. It rides nicely on the shoulders, keeps you dry, and stops the sun from roasting your (my) pale torso.

Note: I usually wear size S technical gear (Under Armour, Nike), but the MHW sizes seem to run a little small so I had to go up to a M.

Super lite

I really like this shirt! It is super light, almost to the point that you don't feel like you're wearing a shirt. It wicks incredibly well I never feel sweaty, even when it was 96 degrees out.
