I'm 5ft 90lbs and bought the XS. It fits me perfect! There isn't much room for layers, but I don't care, I love this parka! The material is soft, and the fleece lining is softer and cozy! I love the longer length and it kept me warm and dry over my work dress shirt and light pants during a 45 degree rainy day.

Mmmmm... if I lived in Fairbanks I would want something with a little more insulation. Check out the W's Sub Zero SL Jacket or the W's DownTown Coat for possible options. Both would be a bit warmer than the Wanderlust Parka due to the down insulation. Hope this info helps!

The cut of this jacket is for slim body shape, at least that's my opinion for the xs size. It is a true size 0-2, there's not much room for heavy sweater underneath. So I returned for that reason. Otherwise, the hood and material construction seems fine.

Fits and performs great! Bought this for my recent trip to Italy(actually just got back yesterday) and I was so happy I bought it. Winter in Italy is typically mild compared to the US Midwest but can be rainy and cool (40F's). I wanted a parka that would keep my dry and warm but not be bulky for traveling. I have the Northface Metro which works for keeping me warm during Chicago winters but that would have been too bulky for me to travel with.

"The cut of this jacket is for slim body shape, at least that's my opinion for the xs size. It is a true size 0-2, there's not much room for heavy sweater underneath" This is very true. I usually wear XS but bought is in an S because I wanted to be able to wear layers underneath. If you aren't going to layer or wear anything heavy underneath, then I would suggest buying your regular size. When I first tried it on with just a t-shirt I was swimming in it and had a moment of regret not buying the XS but once I was dressed for colder weather underneath I was glad I bought the S.

It rained a few times while we were in Rome and it kept me dry and warm. Wind and rainproof indeed! They had record low temperatures and snow in Florence(low 30F's) and Venice(high 20F's)and it kept me warm and dry there too!

This jacket was also light and compact enough that I could roll it up and shove it into my purse if I got too warm indoors(museums). Granted, I have a big purse, but if you have a backpack or something it will work just as well.
