Sleeves are te downfall

Unless you are a monkey with 3 foot long arms, this coat will go back for you. I LOVED everything else about this coat, but do not understand how they did not catch this HUGE glitch when it came off the assembly line....I just packed it up, and tomorrow, sadly, back to UPS for a refund.

    What's with the sleeves?

After reading the comments about this coat, I decided to get an extra-large to accommodate bulky clothing. I'm 5'9" 155 pounds, with big boobs. Everything fit, except the sleeves. They were so long, they covered my fingers. I really, really wanted to like this coat, but alas, I am not an orangatang.

      LUV IT!!!!

I have one of the originals before they went into production....and it is the best most beautiful coat...esp for a chick who is an athlete but wanting to throw a little bling/class into my life...and LOOK like it.

I live in the Park City UT and I wear it with just a thin long sleeve shirt, or even a t-shirt under....and it is warm. This is due to the amazing inside fury material, the windproof shell, and it zips all the way up.

I also love how long the arms are. Check out the cuff however....longer on the outside, while a little shorter on the inside so your jacket doesnt get stuff on it.

        BRILLIANT jacket!!!

        Poor Sewing

I loved the look of the coat but as others have mentioned the quality of the sewing leaves a lot to be desired. The seams puckered as if the fabric was being pulled instead of laying flat while it was being sewn. I ended up returning it.

          Recommended for mild damp weather

I live at 8500 feet and mainly purchased this coat for frequent trips to the UK. It's slightly smarter looking for city life yet works well for autumn rain or mild winter days. The sleeve length was excellent for my long arms and the fit generous and slightly tailored.

            Good winter/rain coat

Although not as nice looking as its picture, the coat is stylish and very versatile--it can be dressed up or down. The soft shell exterior is great for Seattle drizzle, and the inside fleece is cozy, but not bulky. My favorite feature is the neck which zips up very high and eliminates the need for a scarf. I wish the jacket had a hood, but overall, it's a very practical coat.

                Interesting cut and look

I really wanted to like this coat. I wear A LOT of mountain hardwear and it is one of my favorite brands. This jacket was...well...kind of matrix-y and had a weird fit. I found that it fit tight and cut in under my arms. I did think it nipped in at the waist and was flattering but it was just uncomfortable. I nearly always wear a small (or XS) in Mtn Hardwear/NF/Marmot/etc. Definitely no room for sweaters. I thought the quality was great and the look very distinctive and edgy. I love the idea of a long soft shell but due to the fit (I thought going up a size would throw off the trim look) I returned it. I ended up getting the NF Insulated Grace which slides over a blazer for work and still has a sleek look. Tuja is a cool idea but didn't work for me.

                  Nice Coat

I just purchased this coat and it's a real beaut. It's soft and feels luxurious against the skin with it's faux fur lining. I have to disagree with the other reviewer in that this is a shapely coat which pulls in at the waistline just right. However, be aware that it does run a little big, especially in the shoulders and arm length. I did not size down though because I feel I could work with this.

My only complaint is that the storm flap behind the zipper should have been a bit thinner to prevent bulk down the front. Other than this the coat is sweet and I can't wait to wear it on a nice cold day in NYC.

you contradicted yourself...first you wrote>"this is a shapely coat which pulls in at the waistline just right." Then you wrote> "My only complaint is that the storm flap behind the zipper should have been a bit thinner to prevent bulk down the front"

                    POOR SEWING JOB

I love the way this coat looks in the photo which is why I purchased it. I received it a few days ago and when you look at the seams, they are not flat. The fabric is all bubbled around the metal grommet on the left breast. The jacket is not nearly as flattering on my hanger as it is in this photo. The one I received goes STRAIGHT DOWN without ANY CURVING IN at the waist. I am so disappointed with the workmanship that sadly, I will have to return it. The fabric bubbles on the front left seam towards the pocket as if the fabric was not laying flat when it was being sewn. This would be a nightmare for a drycleaner to press! I WISH THAT IT LOOKED SIMILAR TO THE PHOTO DEPICTED HERE. In addition, the right collar is about 1" longer than the left collar. This looks worse than my first sewing project in the 7th grade!
