Mountain Hardwear took hints from its active-wear jackets and added a semi-fitted cut and articulated elbows to the Women’s Tuf Gene Jacket. Thanks to a soft fleece lining, polyester insulation, and a TufStretch outer fabric, this casual jacket provides lofty warmth for chilly days around town. A bomber-style hood, snap-close front pockets, and zipper cuff closures add utility style.
Bottom Line: Puts your uncomfortable, can’t-bend-my-arms jackets to shame.

Oh yeah.-----------------Sorry Angus... NO. This jacket is an air permeable softshell with a nice lining on the inside. It is not waterproof. Think of it more as a technical jean jacket! It is really really weather and wind resistant but it is not waterproof.
