Zipper broke IMMEDIATELY!! Bummed.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Real cute skirt, but as others warned, the zipper broke as I took off the skirt while trying on.

Does run large - but fantastic skirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

Wore this to work today over Stoic Breathe bottoms and LOVE it. I work in a warehouse-type building where the heat is 60 degrees (after it warms up for two hours in the morning) and I was comfortable all day. It does run large, but I ordered a size up so it would sit lower on my hips and I'm glad I did. I'm 5'8" and it would be too short for me to feel comfortable if it rode at my waist. Buns were toasty and it's wide enough to not impede movement and also skims close enough that you don't look like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. Fantastic buy. No problems with zipper.

loved it but the zipper split!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I got this skirt and loved the fit, the design but on the first day wearing it the zipper split....I was totally bummed. It was not too tight because I could pull it off but the zipper seems to be a bit weak...disappointed and reluctant to reorder.

Too bad the zipper broke.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I was so stoked when this skirt came in the mail. It looked and fit BEAUTIFULLY--thinner than I expected, but warm enough for apres skiing and comfortable to wear indoors. I unzipped it after trying it on and the zipper broke...the most disappointing return I've ever made because the mediums were sold out. I'm sure I would have worn it all the time.

Flares out a little at the bottom

Very comfortable skirt and the fit was good after listening to the reviewers below. Only thing, compared to some of the other skirts on this site, the bottom opening is wider. And there's a tiny 1 inch slit at the back. It looks cute, but I need something with better heat retention, so it's going back..

Be careful with sizing. Runs very large.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

My past experience with MH is that shorts/pants have run on the small size (tight in waistband). I ordered the L in this skirt and it was big enough to fit another person inside with me. I'm 6', 143 lbs, athletic build, and normally wear a 10-12 in most shorts/pants/jeans/tights. This is a really cute skirt, so I was disappointed that there were no Mediums left. Had to return it. Not sure what size to really order in this, when they re-stock the item. I don't think the size chart is accurate for this particular product.

Thank you for commenting on the sizing! I am in the same boat - usually go with 10-12 or size L tights, pants, & shorts. Therefore I typically find it difficult to judge size for skirts & dresses, especially from athletic or sportswear brands.

To follow up on my first sizing comment: I did purchase a Medium (at another store, because BC was out of stock). The Medium is still a little loose in the waist, but the Small would probably be too small. So I am happy with the Medium--it is a great skirt and works for both activewear and casual wear. I hope BC will get more colors in stock.

Hi! According to the size chart I'm a small, but I have other MH skirts that are a size 2 - and even a bit large. Do you happen to have the actual waist and hip measurements of the skirt in an XS and an S? Thanks!

Best Answer Responded on

The small has a 30" waist so the XS should be 28" as these shift 2" in the waist per size. I can try to find him measurements but those are rarely listed anywhere.
