Great gaitor

These gaiters have been used for 3+ years with no problems. I am 6'2" and they come up about 2/3 of my calf. I wish they were a little taller since i flip snow above them when i snowshoe. That being said, the product does as claimed so i wont ding it. The under-foot strap, although somewhat concerning, has performed flawlessy with no issues whatsoever. They make a tight seal around the shoe/boot so no scree/pebbles/snow/moisture has ever gotten through. I would recommend if your not going to be cruising through snow in them. They are very light and the material is bomber proof.

Not much thought in the strap design

Well cut gaiter, good fit, good fabric. MH should have put a bit more thought in the design of the lace/strap. When I bought these, I thought the lace was for sure kevlar or something durable, but I was dead wrong. The lace is just some fancy looking regular nylon jobby. 1 long trail run was enough to chew right through both. Very disappointing, and inconvenient. The worst part was when I went back to the shop, they told me that was normal and that I should just buy a set of shoelaces and replace them. When I contacted MH about this issue, they said they could send me replacement laces, but that it was expected that they would need to be replaced regularly. Why make such a bomber gaiter with such a crappy useless lace as a strap??? In the end, I ended up sewing a short piece of spectra webbing to each gaiter, only because I'm lucky enough to have a heavy duty sewing machine at home. Poor design, I would not recommend these to anyone hiking/running on anything but snow or grass.

Go for the large, just to be safe. You can always return if the fit is too loose.-----------------------------------------Keep in mind that this Trail Gaiter material is stretchy so it may work for you to fit it over both a trail shoe and a hiking boot if you get the medium. Good luck!

best gaiter i've found for trail running by far, but wonder about replacement underfoot straps. they are the weakpoint and need to be replaceable

perfect for keeping c**p out of your trail shoes when running in the snow - with snow shoes yak tracks or whatever - yes the lace could get worn out, but easy to replace - I love them.

these are good gaiters for casual use and can take a beating too. i use them all the time in north idaho. they fit my boot for when we get a powder day(every other day :-)and on my trail shoos to fend off the occasional drift here and there. for me these are perfect the only draw back is that they are not that tall (4in. below the knee) and the string at the bottom frays a little but it can be replaces. a great buy overall though.

good for casual use

not the best for rough hikes or snow deeper than calf height. good however for trail running and looking cool i guess, if that's what you're into. not as tall as they appear to be, but for price, not bad for a casual use around the yard in the not-so-hard-winter. for a serious set of gaiters look elsewhere.

Just what drytool2022526 said, the strap that goes under your boot will eventually need replacing, but I'm sure one could replace it if you rigged something up. They were a little shorter than I anticipated but still got the job done just fine. I suggest going for the XL if your boot is lager than a men size 10.
