This pack is great! I have had it for about a year now, I'm so glad I bought it. So what does it hold? 2L water, 1 day of food, climbing shoes, harness, helmet, chalk bag, 20 quick draws, set of nuts, set of c3's set of c4's up to #3, various slings, and extra bieners, guide book, you can secure a 60m rope on top of the bag or in the bag if you remove the trad gear. With all of that in or on the bag it is still comfortable and holds up to the weight. After a year there is minor signs of wear but nothing to worry about. I plan on getting a few more years out of this bag.

I keep finding extra features on this bag. It is a compartment fiend's best friend. Great construction, looks amazing, met and exceeded my requirements. Pricey though, I imagine you could find an ALPs or Kelty with similar performance for a lower price.

Is this close to the original scrambler pack from a couple of seasons ago?

Michael. This pack is very different than the original Scrambler. For one, it is larger and two, we use a heavier fabric. Both great packs but used for different things. Here is a link to the current Scrambler from the Mountain Hardwear site for reference:

I bought this backpack for a trip that I took to Nicaragua. Our group traveled cross country on very small airplanes, so the size of this backpack was amazing. It held everything I needed for hiking to back country villages and doing medical work. If it got destroyed today, I'd replace it with the exact same thing!!

Bought the Trad in September 09, Used it on 8, 4000 footers in NH very comfortable. One problem after a couple of hikes the stitching on the seams started to let go. and after the second time carrying skis it rubbed a hole in the upper part of the pack. As far as durabilty goes i was disappointed with that particular pack, but have bought another and am willing to give it another shot.

I'm not a very big guy, 5'6 135 pounds but i need a pack to fit all my trad gear in. Will this hold my rack and rope but yet not squash me too?

Is it durable?

Chase, as JC said there is nothing like all of your trad gear. That being said I can not fit my standard trad rack, rope, and days supplies in this pack. For what you want to do, size up to a 40 liter pack. Acteryx is pricy, but their sizing is great. You should be able to find a pack that will carry well, and fits a smaller sized torso. If you are still interested in this pack, hand the rope to your partner and then youll be good. Good climbing.

Looking for an alpine rock climbig pack, this looks pretty close to what I want but I would like to get some feedback from someone who has this.

This is a great pack!! Super comfy and has good hard wearing 630d front, bottom and side panels. The side zip is nice for getting to gear without having to unpack. But if you want it just for alpine climbing you might want to get somthin a tad lighter..like the Supersrambler.
