Tenacity Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardware built the Men's Tenacity Pant from the ground up as a bombproof shell pant for alpine climbing and mountaineering in awful weather. Made with Gore-Tex XCR, this waterproof, very-breathable pant has full side-zips that allow you to put them on quickly when winter storms approach. Removable suspenders keep your pants secured and boot gaiters keep out the snow while you break trail in waist-deep fluff. When that big storm hits, appreciate the incredible performance of these pants.

Bottom Line: Bombproof pants for the worst mountain weather.

Tenacity Pants

Overall, I really like these pants, minus two small complaints. First, the zipper tends to catch on the pant leg vents. I had a day of tugging and wrestling with them early on. Second, I wish the pant leg vents started under the waistline by 4-5 inches. When you have them zipped all the way up, a backpack hip-belt causes them to dig into my waist quite often.

That said, both of these things are not terrible I've had better and better luck with the zippers not catching and crafty adjustment of your waistline can help you avoid zipper silly-putty imprints on your waistline. :)

Light, but soft pants

By:

I bought these pants for the purpose of keeping me dry, and as Gore-Tex type pants they did that. The full length zippers allowed me to put them on over my mountaineering boots. So, that wasn't too bad. I got what I paid for there.

They felt lighter than the look of them give the impression. Unfortunately, the pants didn't hold together for too long. Don't get me wrong they're pretty rugged, but after practicing self arrests on rocks and ice, I found a rip in the material near the upper outer leg. The inner layer kept me dry though.

The pants also come with suspenders, which are removable or can be tucked in somewhere. Some people prefer to go with suspenders, I didn't.

That's all I got.
