For difficult mixed climbs and ice competitions, the Moutain Hardwear Talisman Glove gives leashless climbers a glue-like grip on their tools with added hand protection from rock and ice. The four-way stretch softshell outer gives you the dexterity you need, while the brushed tricot lining adds warmth and wicks moisture. The super-sticky palm reduces dropped tools, and Mountain Hardwear added molded rubber knuckles and padded reinforcements over the back of the hand and palm to keep you from bashing your hands.

Bottom Line: A streamlined, padded glove for steep ice and mixed routes.

Two questions: Are they insulated? I'm looking for something

Two questions:

Are they insulated? I'm looking for something that i can wear on a warm/hot day but still be able to have my hands in snow and wet rock without getting uncomfortable.

How much manual dexterity do they leave you with? I'd like to be grabbing onto rock, branches, and using ice axes, trekking poles, crampons and things of that nature while wearing them.

Can I wear this cycling....I have a problem with frostbite previously

Can I wear this cycling....I have a problem with frostbite previously and so hands are sensitized. I live in VA and have to deal with 20s to 30s on occasion.

I agree with Gabe H. I would look for something like a fleece lined softshell glove or a windstopper fleece glove like the Gravity Glove from Mountain Hardwear. I use these cycling in the winter and they work perfectly. The Talisman was designed for mixed and dry tool climbing and are meant to be used in conjunction with belay mitts or other gloves when in the field. Hope this info helps!

you can certainly wear those cycling, but you might check realcyclist.com for cold weather specific cycling gloves with appropriate padding etc.. sounds like you need a fleece lined windstopper glove.
