Mountain Hardwear built the Men's Synchronicity Jacket to get you through the nastiest weather conditions that winter can muster. Proprietary Conduit laminate, fully taped seams, and SXF super-durable waterproof finish join together to make sure that no water is getting in anywhere. 800-fill goose down insulates you against the harshest drops in temperature, and welded hand-warmer pockets and underarm zips allow you to compensate for quick temperature changes, whether the mercury climbs or falls.

Bottom Line: A fortress of warmth.

Everyone's different but I found the jacket to be pretty much the same "fit" as other MHW jackets. Iit's certainly not an athletic fit. I would be inclined to go with the same size as you have in other MHW OUTERwear.

Good jacket - could have been much better

Conduit coating over 800+ loft down insulation? What a great concept! But I think MHW have let themselves down (no pun intended) a little bit.

The fit of the jacket per se is okay - no less/more bulky than other MHW jackets I own. The hood is problematic - make no mistake. It really is big, which while great for wearing over a helmet, it lacks sufficient "adjustability" to be practical.

It is is warm, but keep in mind there's not a lot of down in there and you'll have to make up for that with an extra mid-layer in realy cold weather.

I like it...but I don't love it. The concept is perfect - add in more adjustability (especially in the hood), double the down fill...and the reality would be perfect too.

Does anyone know how many ounces of 800-fill down are incorporated

Does anyone know how many ounces of 800-fill down are incorporated in this jacket? Would the fill compare more to Patagonia's down sweater or more like an expedition weight fill?? Thanks!

Ben. Yes... sorry for the confusion I meant GRAMS! Not Ounces. Sorry! 100oz. would be over 6.2 pounds of down. That's A LOT of down. Hilarious. 100grams would be about .22 pounds and that sounds about right. Thanks!

Jon-

Thanks for the info. I'm also seriously considering this jacket & need something for the freezing Wisconsin winters but am a little confused. Your comments said it has 137 oz, did you mean to say grams? I'm finding other jackets that have in the 6-12 oz range, not in the 100-300 oz range. Thanks for your time!

Chris. 100oz. of 800+-fill down is used in the Synchronicity Jacket which I would call a "mid-weight" down jacket. For comparison, the Phantom Jacket uses 137oz. and the Sub Zero SL Jacket uses a little over 300oz. of 650+-fill down which for the record is a little heavier for a given volume than 800+-fill but just as warm. I do not know how many ounces are used in Patagonia's Jacket but I would imagine it is far less than 100oz. Furthermore, I have skied in the Synchronicity Jacket the last two seasons on area and it has been perfect for this use even on the coldest days... especially when coupled with a PowerStretch mid-layer. I hope this info helps!
