Alpine expeditions are complicated enough without worrying about what baselayers to bring. Keep your cold-weather layering strategy simple and effective when you pull on the Men's Stretch Thermal Suit. The engineers at Mountain Hardwear forcused on warmth, mobility, and ease-of-entry when they designed this one-piece baselayer. Treat your core to warmth and comfort when you make this the first layer you pull on before a winter expedition or cold-weather expedition.

  • Stretch Thermal Fleece fabric boosts your warmth, stretches for mobility, and dries quickly
  • Semi-fitted cut reduces bulk without feeling skin-tight, and it allows for an ultralight next-to-skin layer if you need one
  • 6-Slider rear-zip opening allows for quick changes, and the zippers are watertight for weather protection
  • Gusseted crotch eliminates binding between the legs so you have full range of motion
  • Seat and knees are reinforced with a Spandura-overlay that increases durability
  • Two-way front zip makes it easy to climb in and out of this suit

Crazy warm

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a very warm unit. IMO I wouldn't use it in temps above 10degrees. For me the flex and fit is perfect.
I'm 5'10" and 180lbs, medium fits great.

FYI on base layer care: COLD water gentle wash with just a couple tablespoons of powdered non-bleach detergent, double rinse and partially tumble dry on low.

are there zippers down the outside of each...

are there zippers down the outside of each leg?

is the front zipper two ways, so you can use it as a fly?

No zippers on the legs. Yes, it is a 2-way zipper on the front. If only there was a drop panel on the back too...

According to the MH website, it does have a rear drop panel!
