Description

Have a mountaintop party in your pants.

We know ladies don't sweat, but if they did, they'd certainly appreciate the ultra-breathable Snowtastic Pant from Mountain Hardwear, a softshell that features a Dry.Q Elite waterproof membrane that's among the most breathable on the market. Unlike traditional waterproof designs that don't start breathing until vapor pressure has built up against the membrane, Dry.Q Elite begins to exchange air immediately, eliminating the clammy feeling that comes with most waterproof/breathable fabrics while remaining fantastically waterproof. Three-quarter-length inseam zips help to release excess heat and moisture if you're really working hard for your turns, and herringbone suspenders keep your pants up during impromptu summit dance parties. Once you've boogied down enough to get you fired up for the descent, zip up the fleece-lined handwarmer pockets, pull the gaiters over your boots, and point it.

  • Dry.Q Elite waterproof and breathable membrane
  • Synchro softshell
  • 3/4-length inseam zips
  • Removable, adjustable herringbone suspenders
  • Scuff guards and ankle gaiters
  • Micro-chamois-lined adjustable waist with belt loops
  • Recco reflector

Love these -- run big

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I bought these in medium. I'm 5'6",150lbs, and they're a bit long on me. They're high-waisted, which I love, because I have a small waist and a big butt. The cinch-ers on the sides work great, because I can make the waist fit to me. They're super comfortable. I was really impressed and surprised by these because I always have a hard time finding pants that fit.

I love the suspenders. The no thigh vents threw me a bit, but I like them. These pants work great on groomed mountains with a couple layers underneath. Haven't tried them in the backcountry yet.

I chose white and yeah, probably won't do that again. Friends have told me I'm very visible because of my pants, but you notice any bit of dirt, that's for sure.

LOVE these pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

First off, I agree with the other reviews-- these pants run really big. Normally I am a medium in just about everything but they were obscenely long. Ended up ordering smalls, which fit perfectly.

As far as performance, these pants are fantastic. Love the zippers that go all the way down the side of the pant (no inner thigh vents). Warm enough to ski at resorts on relatively warm days with just a few layers, and on really cold days I just add another layer underneath. Perfect for touring too, didn't get too hot after a day of hiking.

And they look great too, I got the pink ones and I have gotten so many compliments on these pants. Basically I feel like a rockstar when I wear them and I hope to be wearing them for years to come.

Run Big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I am typically a XL in all pants (about a 14-16 in most brands) and ordered the XL which practically fell off me. I just sent back and am reordering in the large. This pant was great and the color was awesome. I can't wait for my replacement to arrive. Backcountry is so easy to deal with on returns.

Too Long!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These pants fit great everywhere but the length. It is hard to find a women's bib pant. These felt great, were warm and exactly what I was looking for but too long. I had to return them. I ordered a women's medium since I don't like things to fit too tight but they were too long. Wished they came in a women's short length!!!!

Great paired with the Snowtastic Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Love these pants to pair up with the Mountain Hardwear Snowtastic Jacket. True to most all of Mountain Hardwear gear, these pants are durable, technical, functional, and they really do look good. The suspenders are removable, but a great option to have. The cuffs are protected well. I have the sea salt color and believe it or not they have held their white color well. I snowmobile, tour, and get around in these pants during the winter months. I think they fit great as well. I like my pants to be a little bit loser than most, but that feels better to me and I have better mobility. I like to be able to fit my knee brace under my pants as well, so tight pants just don't to it for me.

Great water proofing and breathability with the side ventilation zippers. You can really open the zips up on the side when hiking and getting hot and it is incredibly effective. Some pants have venting on the interior with mesh and that doesn't vent well enough for me while hiking so I love these pants.
